Congrats - always fun to run other makes/models with other car enthusiasts. SL55's tend to be high 11's or low 12's @ around 118+... while that's a bit quicker than the SRT6 or SLK32, it's close enough that it should be a drivers race IMO.
As for the "my 18k car beat his 100k car" - I had to laugh there. If at the end of the runs, the guy had said "jeez, I didn't realize my SL55 was slower than your SRT6 - want to trade straight up?" any sane person would take that trade in a heartbeat. Point is, there's always someone faster. There are older civics and integras that would destroy any of us in a race, and they're probably worth $3-5 grand. There's always somebody faster... and yes, sometimes with a less expensive car.

I bought my roadster new. It was worth every penny I paid four years ago but I half to recognize the value the market places on a used Crossfire. Hence my comment.
PS - I paid $21k for my SRT6 and think I got a bargain.

Yes sir - pretty stout. The funny thing is, that's even the "baby" of the SL AMG options. The top dog is the SL65 with the biturbo V12. If you feel like it, check out the new SL65 Black Series from Mercedes' AMG site... it's insane (and currently my wallpaper
)
I got to race with SL 65 Black...not against him, but saw his quarter times, had me by a whole second...car is awsome...but I told him it cost him at least 175K to get that second on me...really nice kid, hopes he's there next week...I will line against him and his 700 hp + nox car...25K vs 200K...
