Unhappy While everybody is having fun...

Everybody is racing, tuning, moding and my baby(which is stock btw) stoped running today.
I park the car in front of Costco after normal driving, I go in for 5-10minutes, and i come out try start the car and the dash starts acting all funny, lcd's for temp, milage and clock start fading, temp and fuel guages go up and down and all the little lights on the sides (CEL, TPS, ABS, BAS, ESP) are blinking each and every time i try to turn on my car and the clock resets each time too (shows 12:00), plus the time on the stereo resets...
I bring my dad to the scene and try to give it a jump. no more blinking and fading just a repetitive clank noise coming from the engine(prob the starter) as if there is not enough power to crank the engine, we try this for an hour and the car makes the same clank noise when i try to jump start it. when i disconected my dads car same old routine, lights blinking, lcds fading no power windows, barely any power locks... towed it to my garage, tomorrow ill get a new battery but i feel that's not the only problem.
Any sugestions on how to turn on the engine and get my baby back up and runing would be greatly appreciated... thank you for reading.

These cars don't like jump starts.. New battery should do the trick. Possible control module also though.
Put in the new battery and try it, if that doesn't work give the controller a whack and try again. If it starts order a new one.

+3 on the battery. Any time your gauges and dash start doing flakey things like that, it almost always due to low voltage OR low current. Too bad you didnt run back in to Costco and get one while you were sitting there. Good luck.

While I haven't had to replace a battery on the xfires, I have always been pleased with Diehards in other cars and trucks.
