A Dodge Stealth with an SRT6 label on the back of it. I couldn't help but laugh. It's hard to see in the picture but under the left taillight is SRT6 in Chrome lettering.

 

That looks like at dodge stealth to me. Hopefully its atleast the turbo version if he's going to slap that on.

 

What he probably doesn't realize, for what he paid for that car he could have gotten the real thing.

If its a Stealth R/T, I've got no real problem with it.

Just like those old Omni's, Shadows and Shelby's were essentially the original SRT-4's. In a way, its an ancestor of the SRT-6.

 

Maybe a distant ancestor. The black sheep of the family with a drug a sex addiction problem.

 

An unpopular, underrated, hard to work on, expensive to fix overpriced "Dodge" verison of a more popular sports car under a different brand?

Am I describing the Stealth and 3000GT or the Crossfire and the SLK32?

 

I had a '93 Stealth. Wasn't a bad car, wasn't a great car but had a lot of probs with it when I first bought it new including air bag faults because of a bad clock spring and the trans going out with about 7000 miles on it and it was an automatic. I think it spent about a month in the shop in the first year that I owned it. It was a base model but the twin turbos with 4 wd were really great. David Letterman used to have one.

 

I had a R/T Twin Turbo and it was usually a grand or more to fix when something went wrong. I do wish the SRT-6 had the suspension that thing had though it was 3 way electronic adjustable that gave it a nice ride unlike the kidney jarring SRT-6 suspension.

 

All wheel drive and all wheel steering. Awesome cars.

 

How much HP and torque did they have. I never knew they had those models?? Interesting stuff.

 

The 91 I had had 300 hp and 307 torque after 93 they came with 320 hp and 315 torque. The Steath was made from 91-96 and the 3000GT 91-99.

 

How much do they cost? a friend want's to buy one. But not the 4cil.

 

Dodge staleth rt's/3000gt's are ther slowest heaviest hardest to work on POS's around. And my god they are Mitsus so you WILL be working on it often.

I know i know, everyone has a buddy who knows someones uncles that has one thats the fastest thing on the road. I have never seen a quick one in my life.

I guess you never drove the twin turbo. Mine had 186,000 miles on it when I traded it and it still ran like new.

 

I was referring specifically to the twin turbo. The idea seems great but i never saw one even run 12's, even with AWD and modifications....and dont they weigh like 4000lbs....?

My uncle replaced my first car, a lebaron.. with a eclipse engine. Not for power just for the cost. I always wondered how this was done. They used same engines in there cars??

 

Sounds like the 3/S twins, not the xF/SLK? I didn't think the SLK32 was all that popular, sales-wise.

The 3000GT VR-4 was on par with the other Japanese super cars of the 90's (RX-7, 300ZX and Supra). At the time, it was one of the most advanced automobiles on the market. AWD, all wheel steering, active aero system, TT V6 good for 300+hp.

They were expensive to work on, no doubt, but so are the 300ZX and Supra. **** go work on an RX-7 for Christ's sake. See you after the "rotary specialist" rapes you.

See why I thought your post was insane? They made the 3000GT VR-4 (mitsu version) for 8 years (91-99).

Neither was the Crossfire, so its relative. I'd say the popularity compared to its merc counterpart is very close to the stealth/3000gt.
