I agree, the rarity of this care is what will make its value maintain long into the future. Either that or you can thank the 16-20 year olds for crashing them and making even fewer non-salvage titles left in the market.
turning my SRT-6 into a collector's item.
NEVER selling this beauty.
inevitably, this car WILL become RARE. maybe not now, maybe not soon, but eventually.

Will the SRT-6 become "collector Car"???? It should but dont hold your breath.Sure it has limited production, great performance, looks cool. But it is a "mutt"Chrysler/MB.And in the world of collector cars that alone is 2 strikes against it.And to help maintain collectability, better keep it 100% stock, look at it-dont drive it(keep mileage low) and who's gonna do that !!!!! LOL. I wonder just how many people on this forum has kept theirs 100% stock.By reading posts,I would gather not too many- if the forum is any type of barometer in that respect. It is ashame-A DAMN SHAME- that they dont hold their "true value" But that is in the eye of the beholder.
I dont know if any of you guys have ever been Cosworth Vega collectors/owners,But they are very rare.Only made about 3400 of them(75/76)Chevy body-Cosworth of England built the head-balanced/hand built motor and for what they are run like a bat out a hell.I think they still hold the top end speed record for bone stock/out of the showroom car at 138mph for their displacement(dont hold me to that LOL).Not bad considering when they were built. And there is less than 400 still in exsistance.Boy you would think they would be a "real collector"..................... wrong. You can still pick up a show room condition one for less than the original sticker-$6500.They are a "Mutt" too.
With the prices continually going down on the SRT-6's,These cars are gonna be bought by "kids" and will end up in the junk yards. That will only help appreciate them $$$ wise. My suggestion is if your gonna keep one of these for collectable purposes, buy 2. Have fun with one and look at the other one.Just dont bank on your retirement on the appreciation of your car LOL.Just my thoughts on the subject-----------Dave

oh and the cosworth vega would be a bad example, it never did what it was supposed to do, and that is why it failed to become a collector, it failed when it was introduced...I think this car will remain in the 20's for a long time once they start to dry up...many are coming off leases about now....in 4 more yrs, there will not be that many worth having and those who have kept theirs up and in show shape will, I think have a modest collector...but it won't be an L-88 '67 Corvette...

freakingfastsrt6,... When did you buy your Crossfire, what did you pay for it and how many miles are on it?
Most people who bought the SRT-6 (new) stole them for at least $10,000 off sticker. Otherwise they wouldn't have bought them.

There were very few Crossfires built and way fewer SRT6s. You add in the fact that some will be wrecked and many will be abused and it is pretty much a given the ones that are well taken care of and maintained will go up in value. This will take years though. No car becomes a collectable until usually 25+ years after they are built. Even corvettes and porsches lose value at first. Not quite as fast as our beautiful machines but most of that is because so few people even know what Crossfires are. That adds even more to the mistique. Most people think they are an exotic imported sports car (hey they are) and don't even price them because they figure they are too expensive.
Enjoy your ride and take good care of it.
