Well Chrysler certainly didn't make many more SRTs than they did Superbirds (1920) or Charger Daytonas (503). But unlike the Birds and the Daytonas, most SRT6's sold much quicker.
Still, down the road their low numbers, and outstanding performance will most certainly account for them bringing "collector" type money at many future auctions. I doubt if I'll be around to see it, but many on this forum probably will.
As for keeping them perfectly stock, and unmolested, well anything can be restored, so I'd say don't worry about it.
Just don't crash them, but you can still enjoy them.

I think what Freakinfast was getting at was SRT6 owners need to ban together much like Shelby owners did back in the late 80's, and simply not sell their cars for less than what SRT owners (as a group) agree upon as sufficent money.
Hey it worked for them. Look at what Shelbys bring now.
Now I'm not comparing the SRT6 to any Shelby, (we all know SRTs are much better) but unfortunately we don't have some old "snake oil" salesman that once drove at LeMans and later on built a few fancy Stangs, and a few hopped up AC Bristols signing Crossfire glove compartments.

You guys are funny.

If kelly blue book and other authorities say the car is worth little then guess what, its worth little. You'll get laughed at asking too much for it. The end.

Remember, its an unreliable MB underneath thats expensive to fix. Its also a rare car which doesn't help in the cost department. And its officially a Chrysler. That also doesn't help.

Who cares if someone paid alot for a car and now its worth little? As the saying goes, you gotta pay to play. People who paid $30K, 40K etc for a crossfire simply paid to play and I'm sure they are loving every second of it.

If you wanted a fast car that maintained value then buy a Mustang GT500 or something like that because clearly your goals are not about performance or fun, they're about money. Buy the right car next time.

And yeah, about the "Dont make this a daily driver" thing... I can't afford a second car, so its my daily driver. And ya know what, it gives me some thrilling daily drives to say the least. So yes, its my daily driver, my weekend driver, my "i think ill run to mcdonalds" driver, its every driver for me you could imagine and I love every moment of it.

And finally... When I sell the car in a few years and get a bag of dirt for it I'll smile and know it was well worth it. You only live once, and boy does my SRT-6 make me live.

If people were told to keep them six months ago, I'd be without one!

Well first with reliability issue, I have had no problems other than ic pump go out on me And I drive my car hard....So not quite sure what you mean by that???? Second kelly blue book unfortunately does not play a major role in a cars value like ours unless your trading the car in, and I can pretty much go without saying there will be maybe 15% of srt6 owners who would even think about doing that knowing there is only so many! As for asking to much.....Well than maybe we should take the laughs to the bank as these cars values will grow over the years! And its not just the fact that I want our cars to hold there values its the fact that I love driving something that is rare and holds a respect that we all can share! I love it when someone says they wish they could get an srt6....! We are lucky! As I can see you are definitely not an enthusiast to say the least! and you can have your opinion, but doesn't mean much to me as your one of about 3000 srt6 owners, So when you sell your car in a couple of years and as you say "GET a bag of DIRT FOR IT" I hope I'll be around to give you that bag of dirt and drive home happy with the car thats worth little to you!!!!!!!

On the KBB note, KBB says my 2001 Dakota SLT with 290,000 miles on it is still worth 10,000.
I wont be able to get half that.

How can KBB be right? Its not. The market determines it.

Unfortunately the market determined this car would be a hard sell at 50k New. It also determined that people will sell and buy for around 20k now.

Do I think that is a smokin deal? As a buyer, yes. Hell yes! As a seller, I guess that all depends.

Im new to the "info" on the SRT 6, however from the 1000 Roadsters and 2000 Coupes (give or take) That is NOT very many.. My opinion.. give it time.

With 05 similar optioned Sebring verts going for 13-17k, I see NO reason the SRT6 to be within 10k of Sebring..

I was thrilled the SRT6 prices were down this past winter. That allowed me to purchase one for $21k. I know they're just going to get rarer and it's a great performance car for the price. That being said, and in recognition of your comments, I'd be glad to let this rare gem of a sports car go for $50k. Just email me via the forum...first email and cashable check gets it.

I agree with what many others have said on this forum and post.

Without the drastic drop in price I would still be driving my GTI, which I loved. But to get a real sports car with amazing performance and such beautiful lines, well, all I can say is Yea. Now keeping it in tires and oil changes may force me to give up a kidney, but I have two so what the heck.

Mine is a daily driver and since I was lucky enough to get new rear tires from Costco for $260, I even road triped my SRT up to TN for the weekend to play with the Dragon. Wow that was fun. Still dizzy. Just can't see owning a car to let it sit.

I am considering starting to look for a great deal on a ragtop NA since I live in Florida and switch the driving between the two.

People I talk to are amazed at my car and when I tell them I got it for under 20k with less than 14k miles on it they are amazed.

I am STILL offering mine at $800,000 with free shipping. I have no offers yet so I will throw in a full tank of gas to sweeten the pot.

Mine is a daily driver for at least the next few years. I don't buy cars for the resale value or to keep it in a garage (never mind that I don't actually have a garage) to look at and drive on occasion. If I buy a car it is going to be driven. Cared for very carefully, mind you, but still driven.

It would be very nice if these cars appreciated and became collector items. I just wouldn't count on it.
