Great run, what was the DA? Had to take my spot. I'm coming back to get it. Way to represent the Jerry Tune.

See, thats why you can't count on people from New Jersey. They are forever forgetting their TAG system.

I bought the car with them on it along with the stock conti's in the front. I'll try and elaborate on how im getting my 60ft times to see if some of you guys could mimic what im doing. I know some of you had pm'd me on what im doing different so........ Granted, i have a lot of experience racing cars. I've been doing it every weekend for 12 years straight so it's sort of second hand nature to me......

Pre-Run
First, I don't make the mistake and go on a T&T or street night. You will not get good 60's because the track is not prepped right and there is not enough traction. Go on a bracket race. Even if you don't know how to bracket race. Enter it(cost is more though) and get behind those big tire race cars. Don't idle while you wait in line to make your pass. What i do is wait till the car in front of you moves about a 100ft or so. Then start your car, give it some gas to get you moving, throw it in neutral and immediately shut the car off. This way you won't get too hot. Repeat process. You could even try and walk the car up if you are strong enough. I try and go into the waterbox at the tick below the half mark or even a little colder. You don't want to go in too cold though because the motor needs some heat in it along with the trans and rear. I don't spin the tires in the water box. I drive through it and stop at the end of the water, but NOT in the water! I put the car into 1st gear. Soon as I feel the tires start to spin I shift into 2nd and give it more gas so I get the RPM's up to around 5k. Try and keep it at 4-5k RPM. I do a 4-5 second burnout and when i see smoke out of the side view mirror I let off the brake and ride it through till I feel it catch a little. As you are riding it through, you need to give it a little more gas because the tires will want to catch right away. You don't need a championship burnout!! lol. Just enough to clean the tire and get it warm and sticky.

Staging
Very important!! Put the car back into first gear. Approach the stage beam carefully. Light the prestage and stop. Then, stage the car by bringing up the rpms to 800-1000 and bump the car in as shallow staged as possible by using your left foot(brake foot) like a pumping motion. You can't stage the car at 1600-2000 as it will lunge too much when you lift your foot off the brake and possibly make you go too deep in the beams. The more shallow staged you are, the better the 60's. Then when im in staged I bring the RPM's up to my launch RPM. Anywhere from 1600-1800 usually. Then I leave on the last yellow and mash the gas and let off the brake at the same time.

From there, HOLD ON!!!

I did notice that this car is not really geared right for the 1/4. The car shifts about 150ft before the finish line. Hope this helps."
Good explanation, thats what I do everytime, thanks to you- the only diff is where on the third light, now that I have more power leaving at the top of the bulb has redlighted me a few times. So take some time and find your spot on the third bulb. and I even cut a 1.6 a couple of times!!!!!!

Was there an Airport near by? You can call the weather station and get a recorded weather brief and they will say what the DA is..

Nice run for sure! That's an awesome 60', especially on 19" street tires. For some reason I thought you and Anthony were meeting up next week. I knew there would hardly be any cars tonight since it's Halloween! It looks like great track prep again this week. I should have gone.

Nice run! But heat soaked in the cooler months this time of year, and with cooling mods? Now I'm really confused! Welcome to the 11 second club and hopefully I can get a good heat soaked run in like yours someday!
