We made it!!! :)
Just made a pass......
Weather is perfect! 59deg low hum slight cross tail wind.
1.740 60ft and a 11.979@114.89 heat soaked.
I knew it was on a pass as it was pulling hard!!
I picked up 3 tenths and 3.5 mphs from jerrys tune!!
More to come.....

distant, great run. I wish we had more track days left here. How low can you go............?
That is very encouraging as we have about the same mods.

Look at that LET tune represent! I can't wait to see what happens when the car cools down~

Thats badass, that is exactly what I want out of this car. 11 sec street tires. Must restrain, and finish other project first! LOL.
Congrats on the awesome slip, street tires or not.

Good job,- I knew you had the skills you just needed the power and some cool air! And on street tires to boot
As I have learned, it's all in the 60', and I use your technique every time and check the slips from before you told me how you do it till now and I have dropped from a steady 1.8 to a steady 1.7 and even 1.6, congrats man!!!!You are now in the top3!
Thanks guys! I am really excited about it as I believe the car has a little more in it with the tune being tweaked some more. Maybe on a dyno while Jerry gets all the numbers. Unfortunately my first pass was best of the night as the next two passes, I blew away the tires. The track got too cold and there were literally only 15-20 street cars there. I could have made 30 passes tonight if I had wanted to, but the track wasn't prepped and I was wasting my time so I just left. Once I do the exhaust, I hope to pick up another tenth!
BTW.....I would like to thank Jerry for the great tune and Anthony for all the support!! We are not done yet! I guess i'm an LET/TVT rep now? LoL.

Man! I wish I could still go to the track...
I wish that there would only be 15-20 steet cars there... and have the change to make 30 passes! (always well over 200 cars at my local tracks)
Winter is coming, tracks are close and the slips will have to wait.

Okay, one of you tell me how I can get my 60's down too....... I wont be able to use it till next season, unless I get to make that trip to Phoenix in Dec.

After reading that, I had to revise it a little. So here it is......
"Yeah, the Toyo's are working excellent! I'm going to need new tires for both front and back soon, so i just may go with them again. I bought the car with them on it along with the stock conti's in the front. I'll try and elaborate on how im getting my 60ft times to see if some of you guys could mimic what im doing. I know some of you had pm'd me on what im doing different so........
Granted, i have a lot of experience racing cars. I've been doing it every weekend for 12 years straight so it's sort of second hand nature to me......
Pre-Run
First, I don't make the mistake and go on a T&T or street night. You will not get good 60's because the track is not prepped right and there is not enough traction. Go on a bracket race. Even if you don't know how to bracket race. Enter it(cost is more though) and get behind those big tire race cars. Don't idle while you wait in line to make your pass. What i do is wait till the car in front of you moves about a 100ft or so. Then start your car, give it some gas to get you moving, throw it in neutral and immediately shut the car off. This way you won't get too hot. Repeat process. You could even try and walk the car up if you are strong enough.
I try and go into the waterbox at the tick below the half mark or even a little colder. You don't want to go in too cold though because the motor needs some heat in it along with the trans and rear. I don't spin the tires in the water box. I drive through it and stop at the end of the water, but NOT in the water! I put the car into 1st gear. Soon as I feel the tires start to spin I shift into 2nd and give it more gas so I get the RPM's up to around 5k. Try and keep it at 4-5k RPM. I do a 4-5 second burnout and when i see smoke out of the side view mirror I let off the brake and ride it through till I feel it catch a little. As you are riding it through, you need to give it a little more gas because the tires will want to catch right away. You don't need a championship burnout!! lol. Just enough to clean the tire and get it warm and sticky.
Staging
Very important!! Put the car back into first gear. Approach the stage beam carefully. Light the prestage and stop. Then, stage the car by bringing up the rpms to 800-1000 and bump the car in as shallow staged as possible by using your left foot(brake foot) like a pumping motion. You can't stage the car at 1600-2000 as it will lunge too much when you lift your foot off the brake and possibly make you go too deep in the beams. The more shallow staged you are, the better the 60's. Then when im in staged I bring the RPM's up to my launch RPM. Anywhere from 1600-1800 usually. Then I leave on the last yellow and mash the gas and let off the brake at the same time.
From there, HOLD ON!!!
I did notice that this car is not really geared right for the 1/4. The car shifts about 150ft before the finish line. Hope this helps."
