Default SL55 Intake Set-up

Just finished this up on a customer's car. A little modification is all it took. I think it looks really good, but the stock cover looks out of place when added.

I've read about that setup here on the forum. This is the first time I have seen it.
Looks like it'll flow really nice. No wonder folks want it.

x2 The stock engine cover looks stupid and covers up the best thing in the engine bay. The first "mod" I did to my car was removing that thing.

I can get the parts pretty cheap and will modify them for a direct bolt on here if needed. The cost of the setup was about $450.00 wth KN filters.

I can probably do it for $500.00 shipped and modded. I'll get a solid price break down tomorrow though.

Convinced me to follow suit after Steve Hellums’ splitter mod was completed… https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...ad.php?t=19780

There's something about an effective OE-sourced mod that fires my jets.

The difference between the NW and the SL55 on the dyno is about 1hp, 25 vs 26 if I recall correctly. It was covered in a thread here and showed NW, SL55, and BDJ dual(?).

Hardly any difference on the Dyno between NW and SL55 intakes. I have the SL55 and have been looking for an SRT6 with similar mods (NWI) to meet me at the local 1/8 track for fun, in TX. No luck .

Why don't you meet me and 240M3SRT6 out at Ennis on the 15th and 22nd for a little 1/4 mile instead of the 1/8th?

For me the 22nd is feasible, I will PM you as that date nears.

This is my SL55 done with cover in place. I think it gives a very close to stock look and helps with the whole sleeper set-up

I like the way the SL55 looks compared to the NW. I'd rather go faster than look like a sleeper tho. To each his own, enjoy what you like.

Yes, they are bigger and cleaner shot to the boxes. You do take out the restricting plastics feeds on either side of the radiator that the stock uses.

WOW!!! That's the only word that can describe the reaction from driving this car.

The intake feels like it pulls much harder then any CAI equipped car we've tested.

I know there was a post going around where it dynoed comparable to the CAI, but we also added KN Filters and increased the tube size a tab (about 2.6") and the car is scary.

Dyno numbers, post 39: https://www.crossfireforum.org/forum...t=SL55+results

Code3 pulley, LET V2 tune, Phenolic Spacers, Cooling mods, and the SL55 intake set up.

I dare say it may be faster then distantpulse's car....
