Default Werner Von Braun Is Dead!

OK, So I know he didn't design our cars! but there had to be a guy shaking his head this weekend.

I'm on the freeway with the top down headed for Palm Springs. Looking at the rear view mirror I notice a Dodge grill about to be driven up my tail pipe so I hit the warp speed button. The Code3 intake and pulley instantly justify their price tag and I'm doin' three digits and change in a couple of eye blinks. So as not to be overly conspicuous at that rate of speed I pull back into the pack and over to the second slowest lane. At this point the Mopar could have continued in the fast lane, but chose to pull over to the right of me and ride in my blind spot for a while. Sure, he could of been trying to get a bead on my head but I think it was more like

"WHAT THE **** WAS THAT THING"

Isn't that what these cars are all about? Just loved it!

Sweet ... if Toyota used it as their ad-line I'd say "oh, what a feeling!!" ...

Oh yes it definitely gets a few "WTF was that missile that just smoked me!?"

Played around with Bavaria's finest GT car, a BMW 6-series (645ci or 650 couldn't tell) and we had a few rounds on an empty closed-course straight area He'd punch it, get a few lenghts, then I'd pull him in consistently, three times, from 80-130+... I'd just love to know what he was thinking when this funny little car crept past him.

Wink Re: Werner Von Braun Is Dead!

Day #1 (really nite #1) I am going over the Wilson bridge and ZOOOMO something is all over my rear and filling the mirror with lights and grill.

There are many lanes and Iam not in the fast lane, but in a blink I hit the turn signal, gas and shifter as I move into the fast lane go 10 car lengths and then brake heavly as I signal to the 2nd lane and pull "back into the pack".

CHRISTMAS CHRISTMAS or at least all the lights. I get pulled over by a cop that checks me out, and I ask what is up and why were you riding my but. Oh Sorry about that - - - - I wanted to see your SRT, it accelerates pretty good too.

No fault no foul, just wanted a look see..............

Next morning the SRT badge, for what it is worth is off, part of a photo spread on the wall.

That was interesting, -------- no badge Woody

Haha yep i've had that happen on base quite a bit... Ever since I got the crossfire i've been "randomly" inspected quite a bit more often than the SRT-4...

and It usually consists of 5 minutes of inspection, followed by...[insert your favorite crossfire question here]

And i've got the eternal grin on the whooooooole time.

I know the feeling, woody. I was pulled over by a cop in an undercover, marron, chevy impala. All he wanted to ask me is "Does that have the kompressor motor? "

I answer, "Yes, sir."

He responds, "The V6?"

I respond, "Yes, the AMG V6."

"Have a nice day."

That's kind of a ***** thing to do to pull someone over just to talk about their car.

I got stopped by a LEO at the Dragon, just because of something "another" Crossfire owner did in their car. I think it had something to do with "Phlangie Assault".

While I have never (so far) had the pleasure of entertaining local law enforcement while attempting to discuss my triple digit mid lane speeds. I share in our revel of the astonished passengers (the drivers are still squirting chunks), that say WTF, as you out excelerate, drop in and out of the slow lane, and pass the turtle before anyone even knows you're there. Truly gone in sixty nano seconds. Best thing I've ever owned on four wheels.

Holy crud you have a lot of mods. And I thought I was bad! By the way, "Piano Black" sounds very classy. Great!

Funny you brought this up. I recently was phoned by a MHP sargent asking about a complaint the dept. had received. On my way in to work 6:00 am, open highway except for two vehicles driving at a very slow anoying speed (50 in a 70) bumper to bumper just ahead. I am waiting for a solid yellow to end so I can leave this anoying situation in my dust and let the SRT do just what it has been built to do. I step on the HYPER SPEED button when out of the corner of my eye I see what appears as a turn signal from the car ahead. As anyone knows a modded SRT can go from here to there before a dismal driver knows what has hit him or her. We are now momentarily three wide with me on what can best be discribed as a grassy shoulder.
While explaining to the officer the truth of the matter he basically laughed it off and said "I just dosen't care for driving three wide on a two lane". I have been to 3 driving schools since 1973 and not once have they touched upon this scenario.
I bet she is still telling her bridge club about the crazy man that drove around her who's plates read "EZ2BHPY". If she only knew I wasn't that happy on that given day.
Mike
