Well they are gonna keep it until Monday to check it out. The main problem at the moment is that the noise doesn't happen all the time, so its gonna be hard for them to trace..
But he said they would check all the pulley for possible signs of bearing failures. There was a $85 fee to check it out, then if whatever they fix costs more than $100 the fee is waived and I just pay the $100 deductible and Chrysler will take care of the rest.

The dealership called today. Of course the noise isn't happening right now, so they have no way to trace it.. I told him he could keep it and keep trying. Hopefully it will happen at some point, I'd hate to pay the $80 diagnostic fee if they aren't even going to fix anything.
Problem doesn't duplicate when you take the car in. Isn't that just the way it always happens!
I'm surprised the diagnostic fee isn't $99 so they bleed you for a few more bucks if the problem isn't found and thus not warrantied.

Well a surprising turn of events.. The ca refused to make the noise for them, so they called and told me to pick it up. He old me to go to the cashier and they would bring my car up. So I went to the cashier and pulled out my wallet expecting to pay their $90 diagnostic fee, and she said "Oh no we waived the fee, theres no charge"
Surprising words coming from a dealership..

For the poster's sake, are you talking about the top grooved idler or the main 90mm smooth idler?
Also, I noticed our main 90mm smooth idler is the newer updated one from Mercedes already, with the green bearing. Mine spins smooth and quiet after 34K miles.
As for my upper grooved small idler, when I bought the car used it didnt spin well so I replaced it. 8K miles later the new one doesn't spin well anymore either.... Hmmmm.
