Sorry, no pics. I just wanted to add myself to the blindspot haters.

I merged into a turning lane, right into someone I didnt even know was there, despite looking in mirrors and turning my head. Big dent behind front wheel. No paint loss though. Dent repaired for $200, looks like new.

Still have to suffer insurance prison since they have to pay out on the other driver's car, which suffered quite a bit more damage.

Anyways im happy my baby is good again after just a 2 hour job

 

I assume you drive a coupe. My suggestion is to turn your side mirrors out to the point of bareley seeing the side of your car. And then a little more. Use the inside mirror to see directly behind you and the sides to see whats beside you. It still isn't a cure, but sure a llot closer to one

...and/or get a pair of fish-eye lenses (Rush reference alert) to stick on your mirrors. I adjust my mirrors so when a car passes out of the inside mirror they appear in the side mirror. By the time they pass out of view out the side mirror, they're visible out the door glass.

...and I HATE backing up!

 

Backing out parking spaces will forever suck in these cars. But thats ''the universal dream''. Yet another shameless Rush plug.

 

I purchased two stick on spot mirrors and they eliminated the blind spot completely.Just takes some getting used to using them.

There is no such thing as "blind spots" if you learn how to drive and that would include the use of rear view mirrors!
It's to bad they'll sell even a beautiful car to just about anyone.
And my suggestion to Rush trying to explain how to ajust the mirrors, don't actually think it's going to be absorbed by this guy?

i usually get the parting of the red sea around here.

 

I was taught to set mirrors by leaning your head on the driving window and moving the mirror until you just see the left rear corner. When you sit then in the seat it covers the entire area to your left. Then gangsta lean to the right and do the same with the passenger mirror. Trust that if there is no car in the right mirror that there is no car there and you can safely merge-it is true and works. I've done this with all my cars and have never not seen a car to my right or left. But straight out the back while backing is really not fun. Anybody put a backing up camera in the XF? Mark

Get the Multivex Mirrors. (TVT Design on this forum) They are custom made for the Crossfire and are compatible with the heater and motor drive. Saved my A$$ a couple of times.

 

Properly driven roadsters ( with the top down) have no blind spots.

That's exactly what I did when I first bought mine. I still turn my head to be sure all the time, can't take chances, that's for sure.

Indeed -- I feel like an old man inching out of parking spots when backing up ... however, it would help a bit if pedestrians saw a car backing up and actually waited a few seconds, vs. walking right behind you ... sometimes I wonder if they are actually looking for a lawsuit. Now, parking is a bit easier at my Uncle's country place (that no-one knows about) -- a little Rush plug back at ya.

 

The worst part of backing out of spaces around here, and I suspect everywhere, is that people have lost all consideration for other drivers. They must not teach courtesy in drivers ed anymore. When I am in an area where cars are parked this way I drive a little slower. When I see back up lights come on or someone starting to back I do the strangest thing. Something not commonly seen. I actually stop and let them out. It's funny how often I stop for a driver backing out and that driver doesn't even know what to do. They are so accustomed to being ignored. Sometimes they will sit there till you tire and go on. Of course this lack of courtesy goes far beyond just backing. People will do alot of things in cars that they wouldn't dream of outside of one. As a truck driver I see some pretty careless, stupid, And yes, aggressive, thoughtless actions. So, I'm sorry. Especially Backing a big truck like I do, or backing out of a parking space with my Crossfire. There are blind spots. Unfortunatly, at some point you have to move, even when you can't see. And pray that others will see you and have a little courtesy and let you do what needs to be done.
