Default Drag Slicks

Has anyone set up their SRT6 with drag slicks ? What wheel did you use and where did you find "slicks" to fit up ? Also, has anyone tried a smaller wheel and tire to shorten up the gear ratio for quicker times. Thanks

Dave M

ive seen people using 17" mercedes e-class wheels since it's hard to find our bolt pattern in a smaller diameter wheel. likely you can find some mercedes 'replica' wheels on ebay if you want to spend less.

I've had success with the 17" VOXX MG's w/20 offset and short bolts from Discount Tires for $131 a piece. And for the exact height as our stockers, I have the 275/40-17 Nitto drag radials that I got for $155 a piece from Firestone. Shorter size will probably cause you car to spin even more and lower your trap speed. Good luck..

go to tiredirect.com and use the tire size calculator. Use the combo that is the closest to stock as possible. I run 16" E500 wheels with a 255/50-16 hoosiers which you will find is very close. No low mph here. 117mph in the 1/4 is not to shabby. Now your asking about drag slicks not drag radials. The only drag slick available is from Mickey Thompson and is a bias tire, not radial. It's a 16" by the way. You probably want to stay with a radial. If you search discount for 5x112 by the rim size you are looking for quite a few will pop up.

Well I got tired of rolling on miss matched wheels, so I found a set of matching 18's. They are made by ADR 18x8.5 35mmET and 18x9.5 25mmET. Sold my VOXX wheels and Hoosiers. I will be running Mickey Thompson ET Street radials, 265/40/18. I would have had everything on this weekend but a shipping mixup shot that down, so maybe next weekend.

Hey Mopar do you run spacers if so how thick and whats the wheel offset?

Do the tires ever get close to rubbing the 1/4 panel edge or the inner frame?

I use 15mm hubcentric spacers which brings the rims to the exact same offset as OEM and allows me to use the same lug bolts. I cannot remember if the offset is 20mm or 40mm off hand. The tires BARELY rub the undercoating on the inner wheelhouse if I max out the suspension travel(ie going over speedbumps too fast) but other than that there's no issues.

I bet those 315's really hook up a lot better than the 275's you once used. What '60 difference have you seen with them?

Minimal so far but I have yet to REALLY put them to proper use. There have/had been no real track nights..........other than open ricer nights with NO prep to run on this past year since getting these tires. I will hopefully have some nice 60's to speak of by the end of this month since there's 2 or 3 big events which will be nicely prepped.

Personally I don't see how a wider tire would help or be better. I figure if Lethal Performance can run low 10's in their GT500 on the same 265 tire I am going with, they should do just fine. Hell my 275 hoosiers were bad ***, but a 315 definetly looks better.

What 60' times do you drag radial guys get consistently? I have some 1.8's and others like distantpulse are getting 1.7's on street tires. It would take consistant 1.5's or so before I would spend the money. I ran drag radials on a extra set of tires on my last car and it was an aggravation swapping the wheels back and forth all the time.

The setups you guys have look nice though, I think the 16" wheel would be best since you get more sidewall on the tire and that usually equals more traction at the track.

Mine are usually 1.7's. I'm hoping for 1.6's at Famoso. We'll see.

When the track is prepped correctly, I'm pulling 1.7's.
