I came across the Kill section in a G8 forum and got a few laughs, especially one dude saying the G8 outhandles the SRT-6. At least some of them know more about the SRT-6. Still it's a funny 2-page read.... Enjoy!

Seems to me stock vs stock it would be a close race. The GXP is an interesting looking car. Just not a fan of 4 doors. But if I needed 4 doors I would consider the G8 GXP.

 

And how exactly did you come to this conclusion?

edit: I guess your referring to the GXP being a close race and not the regular G8 GT.

I like the GXP and the regular GT. Might be my next car as I like having four doors.

 

The Evo guy cracks me up. No doubt he was running n/a Crossfires. Even if he did win, it would have to be a heavily modded Evo vs a stock SRT-6. Unless of course he was racing from a dig.

My stock SRT-6 pulls harder on the highway than my previous 2005 WRX STi w/ Cobb Stage 2 (340hp/350ft/lbs)- mainly because of less parasitic loss from the drivetrain. AWD cars lose considerably more horsepower to the wheels. Great for getting up and going from a dead-stop but slows you down when already in motion. The same reason why you hear SRT-4 guys bragging about roll racing stock STi's.

Anyway it's going to be 45 degrees today- wooo hooo. Planning on finally installing my Needswings intake today. Can't wait to hear that SC whine!

 

Stock or modded the GXP to SRT-6 would be a close race, that car is amazing!

 

Agreed, there was a stock G8 running 8.7x at the track several weeks ago. As you can see below, I was running the same when stock. Great looking cars!

 

That G8 thread is a great testimonial to our cars -- should be required reading for SRT6 drivers. Other than a little misinformation here and there, the posters who had driven our cars or raced them really said some nice things about power, speed, and handling.

It's nice to see another fanatic's impression of our cars.

 

If I needed 4 doors besides my avalanche I'd definately buy an E55. Hands down the most comfortable and fastest 4 door I've ever driven. Even the CLS55 has the SC motor and looks killer.

 

The guy that posted this on the G8 forum lives like 5 miles from me. I put a message on the thread that I would be glad to meet up with him and "represent" for the SRT6 gang. Our race will have a severly different outcome!

I had a kid in a "riced up" Miata pull up to me over the New Year Holiday and start with the reving of the motor stuff. I could not tell if it was one of the Turbocharged MazdaSpeed versions, but I thought I would "play" with him anyway. We slow down to 25-30mph and he starts honking his horn and we take off. Before I hit 60mph I am at least 10 cars ahead of him . He pulled up to me at the next light in shock and just turned off. I went home and put the SRT6 back in the garage......done.

 

lol that is funny, hopefully he takes your offer and it is not illegal machine driving the g8 or he will have a laundry list of excuse mods installed and will most likely win!

I'm sure if I got on SchoolBusForum.com, some moron would say his yellow bus somehow beat a Crossfire. Just because its on their forum doesn't make it so.
If I had a quarter for everytime some kid dreamed he beat an SRT6 with his Evo, STi, or other r-rocket, I could buy a Viper.
Maybe they should just resume touching themselves at night and stop dreaming about beating us.

Those cars can be beasts once modded tho. Theres some guy on their with a killer TT setup and the supercharged G8's aint no slouch either. Although almost any car with TT can be a beast.

 

Drove a G8 GT, 361 HP 385 lbs torque. Moves real quick the only issue would be handling as this post asks. That's why I would believe with the GXP it would be close. Stiffer suspension upgraded anti-roll bars etc.
