Well the SRT is at home again today due to the snow, My brother had to bring me in to work in his VW R32. Just wondered about other peoples views but this has to be the worst car in the snow I have ever driven!
Before I get “flamed” for daring to be negative please bear in mind: It is quite hilly where I live, I have conti sport tires and nothing in my trunk. I still love my car! and I do realise it was not put together with snow capabilities being part of the design remit.

LePie, you are correct with your current tire setup. If you wish to drive safely in the snow, you need a second set of tires and patience. I put limited wheels with snow tires mounted on them in November and put the pilots back on in March or April. This is the only way to feel secure (IMHO) when driving in the snow. If you only get snow once or twice a year, this would not be worth it for you but I drive 15-20K miles a year no matter what the climate.

On another not, hows the exhast and sound doing? I'm still looking but close to pulling the trigger on a change myself.

 

I will have to agree (although I have high performance summer tires). That is why I drive my tahoe in the winter. I tried the snow thing last year and I barely made it home!! Even with the traction control on in W mode, I was just spinning everytime I touched the gas from a stop.

 

You've obviously never driven a 350Z or an S2000 in the snow...

 

backed mine out of the garage last winter and it was stuck, one inch of snow and it hasnt seen it since. Summer only and not even much of that

 

been driving mine every day all winter long. i can't stop driving my SRT, it's wayyyy too fun! especially with cold air!

Blizzaks on 18" mercedes wheels. 170lbs of sand in the hatch. i've hardly touched my SUV. unless it's 'SCARY bad' outside, i drive her. i've never owned a car i did NOT drive. they just depreciate anyways. the SRT gets around great, and the traction control is top-notch! stock tires WILL NOT work in the snow!

it's like those guys who have a new F430 in their garage that gets driven literally 2 times a year, how sad.
if you can't afford it, why buy it?????

the purpose of a car is to drive it. and maybe be seen in it...........by girls..... now i sound really immature....

 

You need the right tools for job.

Four Blizzaks and a four Limited front wheels turned my SRT-6 into a snow champ.

I've driven this set up through hundreds of miles of snowy roads, with up to 4 inches of unplowed snow and never felt that it wasn't up to the job.

 

Yep I'm doing the same thing with my 6 (same color too)!

Picked up a set of n/a Stockers and a fresh set of Eagle F1 a/s tires. Will be mounted, balanced, and installed on my 6 quite soon!

 

I am loving it no regrets (now) I also love the look too!

 

Punkin is right. Snow tires make a huge difference, but if you don't get much snow go with the all season tires. I have a set and they work very nice.

 

I don't think the snow here will last much longer, may buy a beater for next year cheaper than wheels and tires and don't care if it takes a knock, Had a Subaru Justy 4x4 one year and it was so much fun in the snow!
