A few more...

Good looking Vette

This Z had a huge turbo. He was running 12.1’s in the 120mph range. He could not hook up, but he pulled like a mad man on the top end. I would love to see this thing on some slicks!!

Hey I'm moving this over here so we don't mess up 240's thread. cool.

It's an all concrete track as well. Looks like an IHRA track. You guys are extra lucky to have 2 concrete tracks so near. Unfortunately you'll be too hot in april. I wanted to come out on the 28th but some kind of GM race is going on. The first time trials are at 11am. I'd hate to go all that way and get 1200' DA, and only a few runs. I want negative DA someone please help.

Wow you've seen 19 psi of boost. I've been to 18 but that's about it. Was SRTgangmember slipping on the launch? He should be in the 11's with that DA. I cool my car before record time runs, if your at mid line temp wise you just lost power.

Great pics. Did the vette get booted for running under 11.5? If not I like this place already.

I do not think he did. I had to leave pretty early and he was still in line again when I left.

I don't think he was. He had a few 12.2's and 1.8 60's. Those Toyo's hook up pretty good!

Yes, this winter I was seeing 19 all the time. That cold dry Texas air was GREAT!

Don't forget to take off your grill, it's good for a tenth for me. Also the new larger air filter picked me up a few thousandths. Every little bit counts. Texas air. I have relatives from Lubbock to Dallas and down to San Antonio. I should make a little trip out of it. We'll see.

Is the air in April killer as well?

I agree. My last race of the day I was up against a C5 ZO6. I bet he was shocked at the outcome. My 12.317@113.19 to his 12.461 @ 120.21. I had a 1.8 60 and he was 2.2, he did not have enough track to catch me!

I had my grill off, but have the older K&N that was FILTHY until today

I don't recall the weather in April, but it will be getting pretty warm here soon. I am seriously thinking about adding a little N2O just to off set these hotter temps. I think a 100 shot would do the trick.

That definately will do the trick. We'll see if I can't come up with a good excuse to head up there.

Do you know the track elevation for the new track? I looked but couldn't find it on the site.

Nice pics! Nice Zo6 kill! I called out a C6Zo6 last time I went to the track, sadly he got me by a tenth, but he was truly suprised to see me right behind him. Technically I won because he redllighted, but ET wise he got me.

Yes! I fear this will be the only way to stay consistant once the summer heatwave consumes us.

Just guessing but I would say in the +500-600 ft range.

No spinning issues my 60’ times were on par with what I run on the 1/8th track, low 1.8’s . My setup will not yield 11’s because my approach is different, I like testing at mid line.

Hey BLKFIN thanks for posting the pic, it’s now my desktop background !
Get some practice on those new rears and if I don’t tree you, victory is yours.

LOL..I agree. I am usually the one doing the treeing. I had the launch down pretty good on street tires. I never saw a 1.8, but I also never red lighted and saw some pretty strong RT's. I only got 4 runs in on Saturday so I do need some more practice on these tires. I think I can shave a few more 100ths off the 60.

It is a shame that even the closest 1/8 mile track is an hour from me. Hopefully, on the 21st I can get a few more runs in and get these launches more consistent!

I just saw the link for the new race track out there. It's basically a straight shot down I20 for me and closer than Ennis. We should set up a meet out there, hopefully it won't be too crowded.

I did run back to back 11.89's at mid line in a quick 3 hot lap session at famoso. I usually seen my best though just below the mid line. Rob believes his car gets faster the warmer it gets. So I'm not sure how much truth to my statement goes for other cars.

I forget about my tune and was just thinking about mods. I've never ran a 91 tune so I don't know how much slower it would be. My first was the 93 tune when I ran 12.02, then the 100 tune didn't seem much faster but as I put more time on the ecu it started to show on my slips. Seat of the pants dyno didn't seem like it, but my mph get getting higher and times lower.

Yes BLKFIN you got tree'd

I agree! I was thhinking of waitng a few weeks after their opening to go so the big cars can lay some rubber down and help with traction.

I need to data log more on the ¼ track but the three passes I did log were telling. Heat is more of an issue on the ¼ track compaird to the 1/8 track because of prolonged WOT. My first pass was 12.20 and eng temps reached 194 deg while IAT hit 160. My second pass was a hot lap and I trapped 12.37 where eng temps reached 207 while IAT hit 170. Due to that heat, timing was pulled, mph was reduced, boost fell and it reflected in my ET. Those things happen on the 1/8 track but not as extreme, talking hundreds and not tenths. I’m going to go with colder plugs and Split coolant reservoirs too see how that helps.

I wonder what max temps are hit with the 178 or Code 3 pulley….. Based on your sign, that tune is killer !
