These cars have "A" service and "B" service. At 30K, you might be calling for a "B". Do you see 2 little wrenches in your dash?

Last week I was sitting at the dealership and noticed they had Chrysler services set up in mileage increments. I'm not sure that applies to our cars. Do you have an Owners Manual? The Maint. schedules are on page 247+.

SCOPE OF WORK FOR “B” SCHEDULE
MAINTENANCE SERVICE
Oil Change
Change oil and replace filter

Maintenance
Rotate tires

Replace dust filter

Lubricate hood hinges, latch, and secondary latch

Reset FSS Display

Function Check
Horn, hazard warning flashers, turn signals, and indicator
lamps

Headlamps and exterior lighting

Windshield wipers and washer system

Check seat belts for damage and proper function

Test hydraulic brakes and check parking brake function

Inspection
Check front and rear brake pads for lining thickness

Check condition of front and rear brake discs

Check tires for damage and general condition

Check tire inflation pressures and correct if necessary

Check major underbody components for leakage or
damage (if there are signs of leakage, determine cause
and repair)

Check condition of front axle ball joints and rubber
boots

Check condition of steering components and rubber
boots

Check underhood components for leakage or damage
(if there are signs of leakage determine cause and
repair)

Check condition of accessory drive belt

Check headlamp aiming, adjust if necessary

Check windshield wiper blades, replace if necessary

MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES 251

These cars have an "A" service or a "B" service. At 30K, it might call for a "B

And here's the "A" list:

Your Flexible Service System (FSS) — see Understanding
Your Instrument Panel section — should give you an
exact indication of when your vehicle should be scheduled
for service and which schedule to follow.
Additional Periodic Maintenance
items should also be
performed beyond the items listed in the following charts
to assure the optimum performance of your Crossfire.

SCOPE OF WORK FOR “A” SCHEDULE
MAINTENANCE SERVICE
Oil Change
Change oil and replace filter

Maintenance
Lubricate hood hinges, latch, and secondary latch

Reset FSS Display

Function Check
Horn, hazard warning flashers, turn signals, and indicator
lamps

Headlamps and exterior lighting

Windshield wipers and washer system

Inspection
Check front and rear brake pads for lining thickness

Check tires for damage and general condition

Check tire inflation pressures and correct if necessary

Fluid Levels
Check fluid levels for the following systems and correct if
necessary. Should there be a loss of fluid that cannot be
explained by regular use, trace and eliminate the cause.
Engine cooling system (check corrosion inhibitor/
antifreeze)

Hydraulic brake system

Power steering system

Windshield washer system

So, the B service calls for the grease monkey to rotate the tyes, eh? That will be interesting with different size wheels on each axle! The poor car would go down the road like a crab!

Sounds like $800 of stuff the quick lube does on a 21 point inspection. Prepare yourself for estimates on all the parts that are not covered under warranty. Belt, brakes, fluids, maybe even take a shot at your tires separating.

There is no special service for 30K miles. Ask the service rep to show you where a special service is required.

I'm not sure what they are doing but they said it was going to be 800 and i asked if there was going to be any hidden fees or anything. He said no. So i told him if they do need to replace anything to call me first other wise they would be paying for whatever they didn't tell me about. I has this in writing to so I'm not to worried about any hidden things.

So $800.00 for an oil change because that is all that they are going to be doing. Dude get yourself an oil extractor and change it yourself and save a boat load of dough!

I only saw one big wrench but to me what he was talking about any looking at the two services is sounds like he is going to do both service a and b
