All the new 4000-4200 pound cars with V-8's are freakin BOATS!! They are huge and not all that fast. My buddy has an SRT8 Charger, Long tubes, CAI, tune, no cats, 3" dual magnaflow, thermostat, ported intake manifold and throttle body, and misc, I can pull him on motor to motor over a half a car a gear from a slow roll. Not that impressive to me. It is definetly not a 2 door sports car, like ours.

The problem with most modern cars is they are just to HEAVY. Give me a light nimble car with good power to weight ratio anyday. Seems 1/4 racing is where most people want to be. So I guess the heavy cars can give them more traction?

2005 M-B CL 65 AMG or 2009 M-B C63 AMG is the next car(s) on my "to own" list. With two (albeit expensive) mods the CL will run high 10's...........and the C with run mid 11's.

I don't care if the Challenger or the charger are heavey! They're hot and i'd say much more intimidating on the road than a crossfire!

I love both my STR-6 Crossfires, but If I were going to get another car after them it would be the Challenger hands down!

And maybe a Viper if i could ever afford one!

Then the Vette!

Intimidation is cute until the slow, heavy $40k Challenger with tiny rear tires gets owned by a srt-6. Its the unrefined muscle car car high school kids and baby boomers love and expect to win a stoplight race until the light turns green and reality kicks in. Kinda like the new mustangs...loud, jerkey, dime-a-dozen, with drivers that actually think their cars are fast until they run 13.5-14.0's in the 1/4. You all know what im talking about.

Viper and vette is different story, but they are still for the "masses". It aint hard to go fast in one, just pull out your checkbook.

Dont get me wrong, the srt6 is not the car to end all cars....but for the $16000 they are pulling these days...they are one of the best all around rwd performance coupes on the road.

As many have said, 370Z.

Nearly identical straight line performance to a stock SRT-6, only it's skid pad, slalom, etc absolutely annihilate the SRT-6.

You can get one well optioned with 0 miles for 35K. Zero options, and you're looking at 31K.

OR you could get a new Camaro with the LS3. It will obliterate the SRT-8 Challenger. Doesn't look as good, though, but is over 10 grand cheaper.

Just might have to retire the SRT6 to the racing circuit - just keep it stowed in the trailer

I'm considering an Cadillac STS-V with a 4.4L Supercharged V8 @469HP Stock (I can bump that up to say 570HP) - With a custom body kit of course.

Or perhaps step up to the 6.2L Superchaged V8 motor pumpin' out 556Hp (soon to be 660hp) that's found in the new Cadillac CTS-V

This animal rips off a 0-60MPH in 3.9 Sec. with a SIX SPEED manual transmission - rear wheel drive and oohhh...... the luxury and features.

OR PERHAPS THIS TWIN SUPERCHAGED MACHINE - NOW THATS MY KIND OF MOD

the SRT-6 has definitely turned me on to hatches! i love the Z4 M coupe. the new 2010 Z4 is very clean and more aggressive than previous years.
attached some pics of my favorite Z4 M, supercharged to 500hp.

I'll keep the SRT6 and viper. I think my next ride will be the SL55AMG, or the SL65AMG, I am leaning more towards the 65, but the 55 is way easier to work on and mod.

I would love to keep my SRT6 and add a 2008 Audi RS4 420hp and a V8 that redlines @8000 RPMs plus all wheel drive!

As I "mature", I might be persuaded to get an SL55/65.

We talk about our cars losing value, check this ultra clean California 2005 SL55 AMG with only 16.5K miles still under factory warranty. Bought new for $140K, only $51K OBO.

I have kinda been thinking the same route...but not as a replacement for the SRT, but rather an addition. I have been looking at the E55s. I will probably purchase one in the next 6-9 months. Just to have another car...except the E55 will be able to drive around more than one other person...and it is much faster than the SRT.

Nice job bringing up one of the good threads from the past

I will end up in a Cayman, or an Elise. It just depends on what strikes me at that moment.

I've personally had a thing for the XLR-V....440 ish HP. Love the V8 sound too for around 40K, not bad for a 100K car.

I think they're gonna be calling them the ZL1 like the CoPo special order Camaros from the 60s.

Me, I keep watching the CLK Black Series prices drop. They started off at 130-150,000 now they're high 70,000s. Super low miles on 'em too!
