had my lower grilles painted also what do you think? ,, thanks ,,, well i like it any way.. LOL jim

My painter said sanding the lower grilles was hell, but (took about 2 days) of minute think that is spelled wrong) sanding between the squares , but he got it the paint looks good same black as the car. jim

Lol I am well aware of that but if you look at the Y there is still a big restriction there and if you take off the grille and look the "holes" where the air goes in they are still quite small as well. A CAI has the filter right there in the front of the grille where it gets plenty of fresh air and there is no Y restriction.
Every little bit helps, he is still better off than stock now but a CAI would help even more.

The Y is 3.5" reducing down to 3" at the TB (both of them)
The intake tubes are 3" (both of them)
The openings at the radiator support are the same size on every Crossfire - N/A or SRT6
The way I looked at it when researching intakes - the AMG SL55 supercharged V8 engine is rated at 493 HP @ 6100 RPM at the crank when equipped from the factory with this intake.
If (and I say if) an SRT6 were able to make 400 HP at the wheels - conservatively that would be 472 HP at the crank, giving plenty of margin for further modifications.
