Default SRT-6 Spoiler Cracks

I just picked up my SRT-6 Roadster a few weeks ago. I just noticed that there are cracks in the supports for the spoiler right where the support and the spoiler meet. Is anyone else seeing the same thing? If so, what can be done to fix it?

I've never seen that before. Perhaps somebody sat on it?

Strange.
Perhaps the recessed areas where the spoiler mounts are filling with water and cracking the paint.
Never seen that before either.

Perhaps the PO was driving it too fast causing too much downforce

I bet previous owner used the wing to slam the trunk.

I haven't heard of this before.
I think the trunk slam/sat on ideas have the most merit.

The wing broke off???????? Can you be more specific. Pictures...... The wing cost around $700. You may want to turn it in to your insurance under comprehensive damage if you can. To fix it you would probably have to have to drill in each broken area and use pins to each side to secure it.

The wing cracking at the base is very common on roadsters. It probably is a design flaw.... Too much downforce at speed/????? Maybe!!!! Using the wing to shut the trunk/????? Maybe!!! nOR both.

I have had the wings replaced on both SRT's and repaired Ashley's twice and it continues to crack as is mine currently. Probably need to talk to Chrysler about this flaw.

I wonder if the trunk has been slammed one too many times. I lower mine until it is about 4-6 inches from closing, then drop it.

My car has the same issue, it appears to be primarily a Roadster SRT-6 problem caused by the change to our fixed spoiler design to clear the opening/closing top. According to Chrysler, it is not covered by thier Gold Service extended contract. Chrysler indicated that the cracks were due to PO closing trunk with wing. I have looked at every SRT-6 Roadster that I see and about 20% have cracks, some minor and some more extensive.

IDEATING - I would also like photos of the interior of the wing and struts. I intend to drill and screw mine and knowing what the inside is makes the job easier and more effective. Thanks
