Default Top Gear: HSV Walkinshaw - Some serious Competition to our SRT6s!!!

This was on Top Gear Australia last night and it looks like one hell of a car... Amazing specs but i'll let you decide for yourself. I would love to hear some comments from members. The "Holden Special Vehicles HSV Clubsport R8 by Walkinshaw Performance" in Australia is comparable to the srt6 brand new in terms of price.

Let me know what you all think. Watch Part 1 and Part 2 the results are quite amazing.

Now that's a Pontiac G8 on steroids. Hopefully they make the G8 ZR1 package available here before pontiac goes away in 2011. I'd like to see the new camaro with that motor as well. Thanks for the vid, it was very entertaining.

Hahaha i was waiting for your reply, Ford vs Holden rivalry just got more interesting with this car. My only gripe is with 470kw supercharged weighing 1850 i would think it should be alot quicker

Haha what can I say I love my Fords, the new FG Thypoon does 0-100kms or 0-60mphs in 4.7 seconds flat! powerchip has a flash available to increase its power by around 30kws and torque by around 60 so just that in its self should be able to keep up if not just beat the "super clubby" haha I will admitt it looks unreal. I saw purple one yesterday and it sounds amazing!!!

Yeah. Me too. Among the Detroit's big three, I proudly choose Ford. I am planning to get the Escapade probably next year

I love that wine in that super clubby! It may be heavy, but it's got some serious HP!

Other way around. The G8 is built off the Holden platform. It's got the LS3 that was in the G8 GXP (awesome car), but the tuner supercharged it. FI is pretty standard with aftermarket LS motors, though not necessary IMO to make big power.

Lacerdaschoon, just keep your "Super Clubbys" Down Under. Crossfire owners have enough to worry about from Toyota/Lexus, what with their "show room stock" NA 4 door sedans.

Its a beast of a car and in terms of bang for buck its up there but i would expect the difference between the two cars to be larger than the distance it was considering it has a supercharger and an additional 140kw

Thanks for posting the specs up. I too saw these specs and times. What i dont get is how on earth does it take one second to go 10km in the speed range 100-110?

wow, but, regardless of what country, these little SRT's are still a great bang for the buck....don't need to drop a 100K to have a lot of fun....I have played with twin-turboed porsches, and a SLK 65, lots of HP, but hard for them to hook-up, and faster, but not all that much faster through twisties, and get you on the straights but not all that much, but both are 150K more as well...I'll keep my little cheapy....for 25k and a few mods, I can run right on their tales so to speak...won't beat them, but make them think a little, 'cause if Chrysler or MB had continued the SRT platform, and improved upon it, who knows what could have been...
