Default First real kill

And I have no idea what the car was. :P It was a bmw, fast one. It was almost as fast as the xfire, not quite though. Started with a very steep climb, neck and neck to the top (few hundred yards) but at the last 50 yards I started pulling ahead. Around the turn he got me, I could have been going faster but I still don't know quite how much it can take. Back to the straight, slightly curvy road I once again pulled ahead, topped out at 120 and he was 2ish car lengths behind me.

He ended up leaving me behind, but just because he ran a red light that I stopped at. And the radar detector started telling me a cop was ahead somewhere, turned out to be a church traffic director but never can be too careful.

But I was definitely the faster car. Stayed pretty close to neck and neck, but I was faster.

Now I have to start resetting the throttle every time I drive, just in case. I bet it would have been a touch faster if I had done that sometime today.

I LOVE MY CAR!!!!

Funny you mention that, that's exactly what happened to me as a passenger in a Fiat 124 spider racing a Spitfire. On the way into the ditch, we went under some barbed wire with the top down and the only reason we didn't get garroted was because I had my side window up, allowing wire to pass over our heads. Ended up wedged in a ditch so tight that the doors wouldn't open.

that kinda racing can ruin the rest of your life, as soon as you kill someone going 120 MPH you'll be doing some jail time, a lawsuit from the family of the victim and you'll have to live with the fact that you killed someone.

while i do not condone street racing...

a less gloomy post.

was it a new BMW or last model or late 80's???

lets figure this out... I'm curious.

SRT6 > E46 M3, E90 335 (sotck v. stock) - and anything slower than those

SRT= or < E90 M3 (I lean more towards the <)

E90 = Current Model
E46 = Previous Model

Definitely a gloomy post. :P

It was a newer one, no idea if it was stock or not. I would say very very close to being equal. I was a little faster, but not by much.

Darn bmw cars all look alike to me. :P

Then it was probably a 330 or 335...

I have seen a silver M3 in Huntsville but I think the driver is a bit too old to street race, lol.

To the OP, congrats on beating a 330i ZHP.

Zahamna, if you are refering to the srt being stock against a stock E90/2 M3 being equal or the chance of equal there is no chance in hell.

Oh no, I was saying that the SRT is slower than a E90/2 M3...though I'm sure there are special situations which it could be close to equal... you know from a 57 1/2 mph roll...not 56, not 58....

E46 M3s' are doable...the E92s' are ridiculous.

Had a similar experience yesterday with BMW the new 335i and that is a little quick beast as well. I dod not race him however at a light he hit the gun with no remorse and that little three series was outta here. I did catch up but in my little NA xfire that is not saying a lot.

Funny thing is that on the HWy he was still tooling it up a bit and I just wanted to see what that little three could do. Not long after hitting the highway he exited. No kill here but then I hadnt tried.

- Not if you're a professional football player. You get off with a 30-day sentence for murder, even with DWI.

In his defense he is on the Brown's, at least the last time I checked.

Maybe the judge showed some leniency, and he paid out a **** load.

I dont think you raced a 330i you would have smoked it thats a 6second car. Most likely a E46 M3 but u would have seen the M badge and u said its was the new shape so i think its either 135i or 335i which in stock form on a roll are abit slower.

Are you joking? the new M3 does 0-60 in 4.8 seconds and q/mile in 13.13 thats nearly identical to the SRT?

My buddy had a 4 door M3 e92... And we raced and we were very close to even maybe a bit faster than me but I had a passenger and he did not. He was maybe 3/4 of a car ahead meaning his rear bumper was at my front.

Thumbs up Re: First real kill

Interesting! I have owned my XFire for 2 years now, have the Needswings CAI and no resonater, otherwise stock. I love this car and the only faster toy that I own at this time is my K1200S which is amazing. Last month I bought a 2008 535i with the sport tranny and the sport package among other goodies. Don't sell this 4 door dowager short, if you do you may be very surprised in a traffic light launch. On the drive down, I had flown to Savanah that morning to pick it up, I played with quite a few fellow travelers. On side by side roll not a one "left me in the dust". Can you take a 535i, sure you can but don't make a mistake on your launch or let it get too far ahead of you. Incidentally, the crack about 70 year old guys not wanting to play, this 71 year old will play anytime in or on any one of my toys.

Happy hunting.
