E46 M3
Has anyone raced one? My cousin just bought one and we have to wait awhile before the track opens up. I have a feeling it'l be quicker I've been in it and damn it pulls hard!
I always look at what someone has to pay for a used M3. Then compare this to what a used SRT cost today. When you do this the XF always comes out a winner!
I just got mine in May and for the money this is the best performing car I have owned. Can't wait for a few mods to make it even better.
Good luck with your race. He will have the advantage of less weight since his wallet has less money

Depends on the driver, I almost bought one of these b4 the SRT but the dealer wouldn't come down on the price. They spin the tires very, very easily. A friend of mine has a M roadster with the same engine, and I beat him when I had just the CAI, but I'm also a better driver. BE IN THE RIGHT GEAR.

Totally agree, the SMG is far, far superior to ours. It shifts very smoothly, and very fast.

smpshady your right it does spin the wheels very easily, I personally think I'll need atleast a CAI to make sure I win otherwise it will be very close, were both really good drivers so I dont think that will have to much impact.
I thought I had posted a video up on youtube, but apparently I don't have one up. When I was at the Eurocharged track day at the end of May, I raced a E46 a couple time. It is pretty much the SRT by half a length through the 1/8 mile then I started pulling on him after that, not pulling much, but pulling still.
I honestly think is my fat a** wasn't driving and someone skinnier was, then it would have been a win by even more.
...and yes I was still stock at that point.

Man, E46 M3's must really hate the vegas heat and altitude because I've never seen one run better than a 14.2 bone stock in "decent" weather. One of my buddys bought one and brought it out a long time ago when I just had SL55 intake and he told me he was running mid 14's. Then he asked(with slight BMW owner attitude) "what are you running in that Crossfire?"...........to which I replied "high 12's". LMFAO You should've seen the look on his face.
I've raced one on a twisty go-cart track and had a faster time by 1 second. Then he modded it (and I installed a Code 3 pulley) and we ran together on a faster less curvy track and we were equal. I don't know all he has done to it but it got a lot faster. I'm convinced that the SRT-6 is faster stock, but just barely. I hope to see him this weekend again for more fun and glory.
