rear cat delete
well i got it done,,, my top end went up my 60' went down and my et is a little faster still testing..
I also had the guy make me some extra sets of test pipes for those that want them, the sound is very pronounce but not loud at all, when you get on it you say wow that sounds great,, it didn't change the sound it just made it slightly louder than stock.. see the parts for sale for info. jim

Re: rear cat delete
Is the final product welded in... I noticed the pipe stretches on either end of the pipe... I really hope when you say test fit you mean literally just that and NOTHING else...
I'll take a pic of my rear cat delete today while it is up on the lift.
P.S. Glad to hear it improved your performance...even if the HP numbers may be small...

Re: rear cat delete
it can be welded in or clamped either way. I do want too see yours thanks, to get a tight fit with no leaks if clamped we streched the pipe on the end as the stock pipe is metric, i used std size pipe also the strech on the end is to be used in place of the stock gasket, so when you put the cats back you will have your gasket. jim

Makes sense if you are going to clamp it...
Just curious... hadn't seen any rear cat deletes clamped before... interested to see what it looks like as a final result clamped.
Re: rear cat delete
I did weld mine,,,but welded with the stock pipe 1/2 inside the
outer pipe so if and when i put the cats back i cut the hump at the front edge and the cut part of the pipe on the cat will fit into the (coupling) 1/2 of the coupling deep and can be welded ,,back to stock with all cats,, i used pipe that would fit into the stock clamps as you can see in the pic. jim

How much louder did it make it. I am looking for just a slight increase in sound.
Is there a flex pipe connected to it that allows the cats to hang down or do you have to fight with it?
Re: rear cat delete
Sound peaked a bit louder, Idle is same, the muffler off is the real deal for sound and tone.
THere is a straight shot more or less need 4' pipe 1/2 black Iron works, youll see how persistant I am when your done, tap tap tap tap..................It come out easily and is like hard toast in texture.Woody Good dust mask and free ventialation, I used a lift.

Re: rear cat delete
1. I set it up to clamp on or weld on.
2. I had the pipes made and had some extra ones made also.

Re: rear cat delete
I had my rear cat delete done last year and it sounds way better than stock with the exception of a slight rattle when the XF is cold. Haven't really looked into the ratlle so it's either something inside the muffller or a clamp. Someday when I get it up on a lift I'll be able to check it out.
