Default New air...

Here is the latest update to the Aero. NW dual CAI. Just finished, so it hasn't been road tested. Next weekend I will get to try it at the track. Hopefully I will finally get some video as I got a camcorder last month.

Edit: I am installing the SL55 intake on my SSB. Sorry guys.

Looks perfect.

I bet it sounds twice as good also. Def. upgrade those small filters though. I replaced the provided filter with an RU-2820 instead of the RB-0910. Although it does push on the grille a tad but, its just a cheap piece of plastic anyway.

The RX-2820 is it even larger and the top end is open but, the downside is they are $64.99 a piece....

I installed my dual Needswings intake yesturday, but drove it for the first time today. Initial throttle response is improved and power is more instantaneous throught. I haven't had a chance to test the upper limits. This should definitely be on everybodys to do mod list. Great job Needswings/Waldig.

PS The power steering relocation was the biggest PITA/messy part of the install, but somebody with a decent assortment of tools and a garage probably wouldn't agree.

1. The horns are mounted on the right and left sides, under the new filters. They were there before the mod to increase air to the radiator.

2. I also did not change out the factory transmission line cooling line. I slid it back on the left and put a new mounting hole about an inch further back. With a tweek of the line the filter sits in there pretty nicely with only a minor interference. The passenger side was easier to just put a 3 inch bracket in to move it further back and completely clear the filter and not touch the radiator.

I also took the opportunity to install a air dam between the bumper and the LET HE (a la BrianBrave).

As soon as the golf is over I will take it for a spin and see how it all works. Since I had the SL55 intake on before, I dont expect a great improvement. But maybe a little. It does open up the engine bay more. Maybe I will get a little better cooling.

Would it matter if the filter touches the cooling line?

SRT-6 Steve,
No, the belt is the standard 8 rib and is 117.7" long. I have a wrap kit installed.

BuffNSoFly,
It is actually not the filter touching the cooling line, but the rubber tubing. It is only a small area and I dont think it will hurt anything.

I also just got back from testing it out. There is a different note to my exhaust and more volume now. Not sure if it feels any quicker or not. Next week will be interesting if if stays in the low 70's like this weekend.

Nice work MikeR, glad to see your weather is getting better. Get it in the 11's now. You'll definately pick up a tenth or two. Make sure to have the dr's on. That's huge when your already low 12's.

Man with the super-cooler, dual intakes, and horns there's practically NO air hitting my radiator.

Could you show pics and describe (in detail) where and how you mounted your horns? THANKS IN ADVANCE!

if you check out woodys youtube videos he shows were to put the horns. under the frame on the drivers side. theres 2 holes in the frame already and the horns bolt right in. no wiring issues at all great place to stack the horns

I have one horn on the left and one on the right. The drivers side is mounted to the same bracket that holds the trans line. No holes need to be drilled for either side.
