Default Anyone have lifter or rocker arm trouble?

I still have the ticking sound, it appears to be just under the valve cover on the drivers side. I will pull the covers and peak around, has anyone ever had an issue with this part of the engine?

please kill the other thread.

this is the most recent thing ive heard about it, i sent my car into the dealer for ticking and they said it was normal, but it sounded like it helped the person in the link.

if you search for lifters on the forum youll find a bunch of links to ticking, you might want to see if they have the same symptoms

Just FYI my car is extremely quiet no ticks, i had a slight bearing noise you could only notice once you opened the hood. Turned out after i took off my belt today and spun all the pulley's around that the idle pulley was starting to wear/fail on my 178 pulley setup.

19k mileage, lifter tick is not normal but not really a reliability issue just annoying.

sorry to jack the thread but felt it was important. if you find any pulley with bearing wear replace it immediately!!! dont wait for seizure to cost thousands of dollars for a 40$ pulley. heres a great thread with part numbers and video. while changing my s/c pulley i inspected all the pulleys. 3 pulleys inc. the s/c pulley all had signs of bearing failure. my cost for 3 bearings was under 100$ and im sure saved me $$$$ if any 1 of them failed lunching the water pump s/c shaft or ping ponged around the engine bay

That is a great write up and tells me this sounds like a lifter problem.

could there be issues with the lifter buckets not getting enough oil pressure under indle conditions?

without proper pressure they may slack up, I have no idea how this system works, just guessing
