Talking Re: valve stems

I believe that they may be talking about replacing the internal battery of the TPS sensors. They have a lifespan that is about 5 years. Woody

When I had mine done there, they explained that they replace the seals to the rims - I thought it was a good idea especially since I had very slow leaks on 2 of the tires.

Re sealing stems like ours is a common practice, much like most people replace the rubber valve stems every time they buy new tires. Since we don't have rubber stems we reseal the ones we have ( a couple of o rings). What happens if you don't, probably nothing for a number of years, but if one leaks it will cost you triple to get it sealed later as you will pay for another balance and labor to break the tire back down. So if your on a tight budget pass it up, but if you can spare a couple of bucks, it's good insurance.

+1
The batteries are not replaceable, `they' say you have to change the whole unit. When I get my hands on one I shall check to see if that is true. My batteries are coming up to six years old at least in November.
Changing the seal on the rim is a must though.
