Default My 1st Time On The Q/Mile Feedback Welcome!

So last night was the first time I've ever been racing of any sought.

I got three runs in my first was a 13 flat, second was a 15 flat (there was a new evo next to me and I really wanted to fry him so I tried to launch at 2,500rpms and pretty much spun the whole way)

My final run was my best I got a 12.6.

This was all done on street tyres my fastest timeslip is attached.

Did you get your C3 pulley in time to get it installed for the run? I will be making my first run tonight. I will let you know how it goes.

I am glad that you got it in time. We PM'd quite a bit about the C3 before you decided to get it.... So, now that you have it on, what do you think? There may be something wrong with my C3 pulley. Since I installed it, it seems to be eating all the rubber off my rear tires. haha!

I did exactly what you said I got a CAI made up and that was a BIG difference, then when the pully arrived I thought it'll be a little faster but not much!!! Man was I wrong it fries the tyres at 20mph's it's really good dont regret getting it at all best mod so far

Haha I think I have that issue with my pully aswell tyres seem to be disappearing!

are you going to use street tyres or drag radials tonight?

If your using street tires, go around the water, burn some rubber to heat up your tires and stage just barely into the lights. Rev to about 1200 to 1500rpm and sort of ease into the launch on the third yellow. That will help reduce your spinning. I was able to get 1.7 60' times doing this. You might have to play with different rpm's to find the best for you. Dont forget to put it in 1st and turn off TC. Good luck.... I dont get to race again until spring.... unless I go to Phoenix in Dec....

Oooops... Good time slip with the 12.6.... congratulations!

I don't think he needs any help w/ a 12.6 on street tires...he'll be kicking our butts in no time...just keep practicing the launch....good job first time out...

All my runs are on street tires- I routinely get 1.7 60's too. The 11's however...have proven to be a bit more challenging though. Who would think 2/10th of a second would be so hard to pick up!

That is a great time indeed! 12.6 first time out. Wow. Don't be disappointed if you have trouble beating it in the future.

glad to see you got the c3 and had a great time racing. what were you racing against and did you winn all your races? 12.6 is a great time on streets . put a set of drag radials on and a tune and you will be in the low 12's in no time!!

Thanks guys appreciate all your comments, first run I could have done better but I eased off before the end of the q/mile because I didnt know how much track was left after it to brake turns out theres another 600meters after the track ends lol!!

The second time was just being stupid!

On my 3rd run I let the tyres down to 17psi and I launched at 1,500rpm, and it really gripped hard! I think around 1,650rpm to 1,700rpm would be absoutly perfect for my car

I think next for me is going to be a FULL service of my car oil, sprark plugs, new spark plug leads, clean the fuel injectors and change the tranny oil and with a perfect launch should get 12.4's hopefully then next will be a Eurocharge tune

Ohh and Mike I'm abit nervous launching when it's on the last yellow cause they go crazy at you if you make a foul start! LOL

Thanks 32krazy first run was against a Ford XR6 Turbo, there a Australian based car just a straight 6 cyl with a single turbo from factory! they guy ran a 11.34, 2nd was against a new Evo and the 3rd run was on my own!!

The C3 is unreal best mod I've bought!

My local track closed so I don't get to go down the 1/4 mile any more but when I did, I couldn't get traction. I had to go half throttle for part of first and my traction control light would be flashing me in 2nd and the car would shift to 3rd early. My best was 13 flat. 12.6 is real good, especially for a first time.

Those are some great times, as I tried all night to make the 12.7's without spinning. What make and size are your rear tires in the pics? It is great hearing all the comments about our cars at the track, as no one expects them to blast out times like they do. I guess I need to make another trip to the track before it is too late in the year. Cheers

I think a 12.6 for your first time at the track and with only Custom Dual 3" CAI | Code3 Pully | Resenator Delete and no tune is great!

haha damn is that why? I better get to fixing that as soon as possible

the thing is it was quite warm and my R/T times could be better I think the way the car is I could even squeeze a 12.5 or 12.4 with a perfect launch.

theres another drag day this Friday I'm very tempted to go

goodgenes79 they are Nitto Invo's 305/30/19" they were brand new felt so bad ripping them up.
