Valvoline G05???
Well my 2nd time at the track was not as fun as the first.
My upper radiator hose was off the clamp and got sliced by my thermo fan on my first run!!
long story short I was forced to put in what ever water I could find to get the car to a service garage, now its back home and I'm going to need to flush the radiator I read in the book Valvoline G05 is recommend but is a pre mix okay to use? I noticed our stock coolant is blue this stuff is green any help would be awsome

Did you at least turn a good time on the run? Sorry you had problems. I am going to the track in the morning. I will let you know how it goes. Do you have any more track days coming up?
hey bmorgan, i took out my cold air intake (doing some modification) so stock cold air intake, 20" wheels, stock pressure and no burnout I managed to get a 13.1 that was my first and only run of the night!
I have one more event on Dec 4th so hopefully I'll see the mid 12's then!!
goodluck for tomorrow make sure you get in the mid 12's

i have seen were it was said the g-05 can be used in the 3.2 s/c engine. color isnt the issue. the additives and the anticorrosion protection is what you need to look for. for the price it seems about the same as the oem coolant. a key detail is to fully flush the old water out and use a mix with only distilled water. i dont know what the z-05 is mixed with the minerals have been eliminated in distilled water. aluminum heads aluminum block dont use reg tap water

There are only three formulations of coolant and the kind you need is the HOAT type. I just filled my new engine with Valvoline G-05 and bought full strength and mixed with distilled water. The advantage of HOAT is anti-corrosion in alluminum engines.
Most coolant makers strongly advise using distilled water so I'd be pretty sure that they would mix it with that!!!
the SRT takes 13.5 quarts from my understanding! so would 5.3 quarts of concentrate G05 be enough for my car?

Sorry to hear of your frustrating go at the ‘strip.
Ashland’s G-05 HOAT formulation is the former DaimlerChrysler’s currently specified anti-freeze.
It’s subtlety repackaged for their dealerships.
Respectfully suggest one purchase the full-strength blend, and only then mix as required with readily available and inexpensive distilled water to achieve a ~50/50 concentration. No sense paying an exorbitant premium for the “convenience” of a petroleum concern diluting it by half beforehand.
Know you’re well into the warm season, but its anti-corrosion properties best not be discounted.

I believe that BMW offers Blue coolant also, not sure if it will work in our xfires but worth looking into, and even SAAB used the blue coolant as well.
Thanks Lantana, what is the HOAT formulation though? I cant find G05 anywhere so I might have to buy another brand! what should I look out for on the label?
And before you guys say buy it from Mercedes they quoted me $25 per ltr lol

Thanks 32krazy, I just found a very simple explanation by Valvoline for anyone else interested

They use distiled water in there pre mixes so I'm going to buy pre mix! am I correct in saying the SRT-6 takes 13.5 quarts?

NAPA carries Zerex G05 about $13 a gal
Also, this might sound strange but that upper hose bracket is a joke. Snaps quite easily and the hose is not held very well.
I found the Mag-Light mounting clamp fits perectly. Has a hole that lines right up to the mount for the origianl clamp and it is at least 10x more solid and actually looks pretty good.
