I freaking HATE this traction control
Ok the weather is finally cool here in south florida. So i took the srt out to do some spirited driving. Welllll at any rpm in first gear the damn traction controll takes over and i literally hit a wall and sometimes shortshifts the hell outta the car. Ive asked this question before without an answer. And the search feature here sucks!!! How do i permanently disable traction controll? Im tired of traction Control spoiling all the fun!
Also when it does hook up (usually warmer weather) is it supposed to short shift into second?? (5700-5800) when in D. Thanks again

As for the short shifting, You got two things working against you, traction and torque. Torque wants to break the tires loose and without traction, the computer wants to minimize the amount of torque available. Like Mr Photoman said, get some better rubber and see if it helps out, that and if you're doing spirited driving and the conditions are permitting, turn off the traction control.

I know how you feel buddy. I have 285/35/20 Nitto NT555 and in this cool 40 degree weather, I have issues with the traction control doing the same thing. Not sure how much more rubber I can put on the road to stop it from spinning.
if the srt6 front sam is similar to the c32 one. You can pull the esp fuse. It should be the 50amp fuse on the front sam.
Just be warned...by pulling the fuse..it disables abs, BAS and esp. Without the esp, the car basically just wants to go sideways at full throttle..just be careful.

Be careful for sure.
Have read here more than once where folks have wrecked their cars because the traction control wasn't there to prevent them from getting in an accident because they disabled it.
Then again another totaled XF just makes mine more valuable!

I would not disable the TC. It can be done. I can tell you first hand sitting at the track with a fellow SRT owner at the line with his TC disconnected.... Off the line he went right into the wall before he hit the sixty foot mark.
If you do a search you may find the post.

Yeah man when you push the button and you get the orange light on your speedo that means traction control is OFF, when theres NOTHING on your speedo it means traction is ON.
Hope that helps, now go fry some tyres haha

when you push the off button...its not a complete off. Its like a traction control sport. Its off until the computer thinks your gonna die and turns back on. There's no way to completely turn off esp unless you pull the fuse or go into dyno mode.
Ha i feel like a jerk. Maybe i shoulda read the manual. Its odd that when the light is on the traction control is off. Oh well i guess ill try it later. Thanks.
