I freaking HATE this traction control
It holds the tranny in first gear until maximum RPMs.
It will hold it in every gear to max RPMs all the way up if the track you are running is long enough.
Or you can let it go up as you approach whtever max shift points you like up to redline. Just relalease the shifter right a sec, pull left and hold to next shift point.
Depending on your tune and mods;
Pedal to the floor puts you in triple digits in or near the quartermile. Should be in fourth by then.
Be sure the road in front of you is long enough.
If you haven't been doing this before you were driving the equivalent of an expensive NA.
Once you get the hang of this tranny you won't believe what you were missing.
Now, enjoy your new car.

BTW, You might go ahead and read this part of the manual also. Just don't tell anybody and your pride is safe.

I read the manual, and I don't remember anything about having to hold the lever to the left.
The detail about it staying in the same gear until redline, etc. works also if you push the lever to the left twice quickly (or a few times slowly) until it goes into 1st ... then release it to the center again. Is there something else I'm missing?

That's what I though, you drop it into first (or the minimum gear for your current speed) and just let it go back to center and leave it alone. That will keep you in gear until you redline. Or so I thought. Have I been doing it wrong?
Yes you can put it in first....but it won't always stay there.....hold it all the way to the left after you put it in first.....try it you might like it....
Put it in first punch it a lil...let off the gas and look down...it will shift up even though ya only goosed it a lil...but if ya old the lever to the left goose it a lil and wow it stays in first.....thats how I can play with the throttle smoking the tires and....well you figure it out just try it.

And the search feature here sucks!!! How do i permanently disable traction controll? Im tired of traction Control spoiling all the fun!
Also when it does hook up (usually warmer weather) is it supposed to short shift into second?? (5700-5800) when in D. Thanks again

I do autocrossing with the t/c OFF always. Never an issue for me. I have even cut into the Yaw sensor and added a switch to disable it 100%.
Spinning, I use 275's on the rear AND I USE THE LSD by phantomgrip, its a difference you can live with. Enjoy the new year and LONG WEEKEND.
