Simply(sort of) changing the brown top solenoids in your tranny to the blue top solenoids. This is supposed to improve the firmness of the shifts. I believe by increasing fluid pressure, but not positive.

You are correct the blue tops increase pressure which gives a much firmer shift. There is a good right up on the SRT forums and on MB World about this Mod. Transmission solinoids solved all my problems! - MBWorld.org Forums
We have the same tranny as the SRT8 and the hemi's so it looks like we should be able to use there tranny module. I am trying to get a company to set me up with one so I can test it for them and verify that it will work in our cars.

I wondered if the mopar performance TCM would work in a SRT-6. I asked during a SRT chat session but guess what ..... silence. I guess the only way to know is to try.

NOTE: According to Builder Bill our transmissions are different from the other ones. We have actual MB trans built with better parts than those of the other variety.
When I requested a modded valve body he would not sell me one of the others and insisted that I send in the Crossfire valve body because of the difference.

Don't ask me what the differences are, don't know. I'll see if Bill will fill me in. He'd love to come here and talk about it but since the picture thing is jack'd he can't join (affects the sign up page).

Umm... let me know if you plan on doing this. I'll come down and contribute to the business at the same time.

If you're talking about the silverbox module, it is not compatible with our cars. The tolerances in the Siemens unit is tighter in our cars than those in the LX body vehicles such as the Chargers and Magnums. I got the guy that makes them in touch with a local owner and they tried it out. Works fine on the stock setting but goes into limp mode in any other setting. Still waiting to hear back from another company that has made a stand alone TCM for the Mercedes cars with this same transmission so that might be promising albeit more expensive but with what we are limited to, I'd be happy to se anything come our way.

DJ, are you going to do the blue tops in conjunction with your valvebody upgrade?

Nope. The reworked valve body will provide for firmer upshifts without dealing with the abrubt downshifts that accompany the blue tops.

Think I read somewhere that Bill (Builder Bill) didn't recommend using both.

well, you just answered a question I was going to ask...my memory goes back to chevy days, but increasing pressure for upshifts would also be there for a down shift...I destroyed a gm400 by down shifting it...of course today, more electronics and safe guards built in...but, don't want to risk it for a few tenths...patiently waiting DJ...good luck...Rudy, did get to talk to my engineer buddy. He agreed to hook up with you one evening you have free. He will pass any info to the company you and I discussed...
