Okay I picked up a set of blue tops from RCompart thank you very much. I have had them installed for a couple of days now and thought I would let you know what I think. There is def a marked difference in the shifts. It is a lot more crisp and more positive feeling. I will say it doe's not shift as hard as I thought it would after reading the MB World write ups. I will let Thumper AMX and Mimi drive my car next time we are at the track together that way you can hear from some other owners what they think of the mod. I am happy with it and I do not know if it will translate into a better time at the track or not but at least the car feels right to me now.
The solenoid on the right is the new blue top.

Hmm, very interesting indeed. Maybe a tenth can be taken off the track times. I like it!
Is you car feeling much faster now since the re-tune? See you next week and Funday Sunday!

I picked up the blue tops used so only paid 200 the change is straight forward I had it done at ammco for 225.00 and took about 1.5 hr's. The big problem with doing it yourself is the lack of dipstick and the fact that the fluid level is based on the temp of the tranny. So even if you get or make a dipstick you still need to be careful. I am over cautious when it comes to the tranny that is why I paid a tranny shop to do the work. Mimi I will be at the track this wed and for funday sunday so I will see you there.
were the ones that were removed not the blue tops we have been told blue tops is in our car and we have been told green tops are in our car, just checking. hope they work good for you ,, jim

I'll post pics this afternoon.
they are BROWN!
This is great information, thanks! I don't suppose you can provide me a list of parts required for the install and their part numbers.
Gasket kit P/N:
Blutop P/Ns:
Is there anything else special required that we should know?
Where we would be best place to purchase a set of blu-tops? Any suggestions? How did you manage to find your used ones?
As far as the oil quantity issue. When draining, I would measure exactly the amount removed and after the modification put in the same amount. Should work no?

Oil level is not that critical. I over filled mine and it pumped the excess out when driving. The diagram shows how the fluid is driven and if it is too high it will wash over the side vent and out, FYI>

Your best bet to find a set of cheap ones would be to go to MB World. I don't know where to get new ones other than stealership sorry.
