Default Rattling noise at idle

Heya folks,
my six has started making a fairly load (in a carpark) rattling noise.
Only happens maybe 50% of the time, and only at very low speed-idle to 5 or 6 kph or so. After that it just vanishes. Obviously something being jarred around by the larger vibrations that happen at low RPM...I'm heading to the dealer (who will tell me they don't know) tomorrow, but wondered if anyone has had a similar experience. I don't THINK it's coming from the C3 pulley, but seems to be around there somewhere.
Doesn't sound like THIS

if it is coming from the front of the engine it could any number of the pulleys. they are a bad desin at best. i would check each one with a stethoscope and eliminate that as a problem. the last thing you want is a bearing exploding while driving. it seems common when they go they take the waterpump with it. 250$ to replace!

with either of these suggestions does it make sense that the noise completely vanishes when the car is going more than 5 or 6 kph? This is indeed what happens-I've stood outside and listened. It doesn't speed up-it just....stops.

had a similar issue as yours at 19K miles. mine was happening about the same speed and would get louder from a low speed to a dead stop. per the chrylser dealer i took it to, it was the supercharger bearing that went bad. chrysler dealer doesnt simply change the bearing but replace the whole s/c instead. if you have a warranty then you're in luck as you'll get a new s/c for a bad bearing.

if this will be out of pocket cost to you, you should be able to get the s/c pulley bearing replaced fairly cheap. if it's the bearings inside the s/c housing itself then you can send you're s/c to a company like psesuperchargers.com and get it remanufactured.

good luck...

under warranty, but the dealer knows I've got the C3 pulley on, and also removed one idler, as per many forum members' reccomendation.
I imagine this voids the warranty...

Do I have a leg to stand on warranty wise?

Make sure your belt is not too long as the tensioner will bottom out and make a tapping noise at idle.
