I kinda hate to start a new thread for this but I can't really see a place to put it without a hijacking taking place.

I was rolling down Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena Last night and pulled up to a young guy and his sweetie in a new Camaro. My honey and I complimented them on their nice car. My girlfriend knew what I wanted to do and started admonishing me to keep the reins tight. I rolled along for a while being very conservative but then I just couldn't control myself. I started by laying a modest patch of rubber but ended up doing a trophy run up Lake Avenue and my GF was screaming at me. The guy finally pulled up next to me and blurted out "what have you got in that thing" I replied, a blown Mercedes. He looks puzzled and said "It says Crossfire on the back" I suggested a Google Search, Then the light changed. I hit the freeway onramp, warp speed and that was it. My honey was furious and swore she would never ride with me again. Was it worth it ? Hell Yeh! I love these cars

 

Worth every bit - I hate whiney passengers.
At least from now on you will be able to drive in peace.

Good post! My wife hates it when I hit the happy button..most of the time. The good news is, they get over it.

 

Yeh, she got over it, we were out and about today. I did however let a new Challanger (I think) SRT8

pass me by on the freeway without pursuit. I'll give her a week of low cardiac activity, then I'll get back on it. I'm looking at Laurie Dhue as a red head on Geraldo. I wonder if she would scream?

 

I loved the story.....I'm happy to say although I only have a na Crossfire I often behave in the same manor when the situation presents itself and my wife just shakes her head and says "here we go again" or "oh no not again" but sits back and enjoys the ride.

My girlfriend is normally fairly quiet no matter how I drive it, until we clear the 130 mark. THEN she starts to squeeze my arm a bit tighter.

Good news is that she already told me she wants to pose with it soon... SoOoOoOoO.... We'll see how that plays out, LOL...

 

after all these years, my wife has finally given up, and just sits back and holds on...until the twisties.....at which time she tells me to slow down, or clean the vomit out of the carpet....I slow down....

 

My favorite episodes start with me asking," Is your seatbelt buckled?", & usually end with her saying, " You really enjoyed that didn't you?".

 

Ha ha, yes i love hearing stories like this.

Definitely NOT just a guy thing! I feel the same way with my na. It's a good thing I don't have an SRT...I'm afraid I'd lose my license in the first week of ownership. Keep tearing it up, fellow Crossfires, warms my heart, it does.

 

My EX is way into cars and would race you. One problem was her agression as she would bithc at me for doing it, she had to be at the wheel. Helll she would paste my buttt in her GT mustang on the autocross track all but one time; that was immensely upsetting to her though.

man, I am so with you on this one Bat. I'd lose mine too within that first week if I had the 6. Then I'd be left with a Schwinn to tear it up with.

 

She's a cold-natured little thing... so it won't be until the weather warms up. "Hot" to me is comfy to her...

hijack alert**

I toyed with a 2000 Z3 M3 hardtop Sunday on a long strecth of HWY.......older guy with his (i suppose grandson). Ok so im running around 80 mph and he comes on hard and I kindly get out fast lane to let him pass by. i didnt really want run since it had be raining a bit....but he accelerates and gets about half a mile ahead before that voice says on hell no!! Now it was on....I smash it and hold it @ 130mph and reeled him in so damn fast!!! I proceed to pace him..not really wanting to go all out....(just a quick burst) besides he did have a teenager riding with him(im not a bad influence am I) So i smash it anyways.....see you later. I slow down for him. I can tell the kid wanting to see what kind of car I had so I let them get another peek @ the 6 before exiting hwy. Very fun reeling him in though...130+ in a slight curve = heart in my damn throat!!
