Default new srt6 cat delete downpipes

We just finished up a couple sets. We have been running a prototype version of these for the past year and a half and are confident in their potential. We are working on making a batch of another 10 of these now, they will be able to be ordered with or without cutouts, with or without high flow cats (in the rear cat position) and can add as many o2 bungs and egt bungs are you guys can handle. EVERYTHING in the picture is 100% 304 stainless steel, TIG'd together with 309ss rod and will outlast the car, for that matter it will outlast us! most of the weld seams will be eliminated as we have them now drawn up in a CNC program thru the mandrel bender. let me know what you guys think?

I’m not certain what downpipes offer. Could you provide some details, similar to the details you provide on your website for items? Projected cost with high flow cats and factor positioned o2 bungs? Also, does this add or subtract weight?

Thanks in advance for the answers.

Looks like I chose the wrong time to trade the SRT6 in! *jealous*

Ooooo! The only problem is I won't be ready until ..... around 2011 ish. I especially like the optional flexibility of the bung's, cutouts, cats etc. A design your own mid pipes option.

whats the advantage to this with the tiny restrictive exhaust manifolds? are you working on a set of headers that arent log style ? 3 tube equal length?

There is literally, not enough room for 3 equal length headers... at least in the SRT, I assume the SLK is the same way.

true that. why do you think i already have Eurocharged making my headers. Got start the exhaust at the engine... I'll put the headers on and MAY change the rest of the exhaust, though I definitely want to avoid drone.

Props to Rob and his whole NW gang. His downpipes have always been great. My buddy had it on his '04 E-Blue SRT4 with the e-cutout. It was fantastic. This makes me want these pipes... bah, no, must. get. wheels. first.

A HUGE plus for these would be less engine compartment heat. Those primary cats won't be sitting there cooking everything. Removing the primaries and leaving the secondaries always made more sense to me. You lower engine compartment heat, but don't have the nasty smell of running catless by keeping the secondaries....Of course this is just speculation on my part. I am sure Rob will chime in and let us know all the bennies of the new downpipes.

Awesome!

Cheers,
KrzyFast

for those of us in states with smog tests, what do the various options mean? Would the variation with high flow rear cats pass smog?

Have an exhaust shop bend you two replacement pipes to fit from the exhaust manifolds to the crossover pipe to replace the CAT's.

Then, simply bolt on your OEM pipes with the CATs prior to the smog check. (I needed to drive about 50 miles to get the ECU and sensors to reset)

Let the shop know it's strictly for the track if they raise legal issues - even have them bolt your OEM pipes with the Cats back on so you can drive out of the shop legal.

Take care not scratch your roof when you tie your new pipes up there to get them home.

At home you can swap back and forth (helps with a buddy) with the car up on jack stands.

No real gains to be had - but they sound nice and will keep your cats from rattling to pieces and having to spend even more $$ down-the-road on new ones so you can pass smog check.

Place a bag of desiccant in each end and wrap up the openings to prevent moisture damage to the cats.

Sometimes I envy you guys who don't have smog checks every two years.. CA is going to start smog testing diesels - luckily for me - my ol' IDI is exempt.

Great work on these guys! Does the engine light come on with these? I wanted to remove my primary headers awhile back but was told that the engine light would come on and I'd see all sorts of errors!

Im also curious on the price

it looks like they have a provision for o2 foulers, the 2 angled tubes pull the o2 sensors out of the exhaust gas stream so you shouldnt have a cel

i spoke at length with rob on sunday and he told me they wont throw a cel and using the rear position with race cats with drop aprrox 60% of the retriction in the exhaust stream.
also having the rear cat position makes it easier for the techs to see them during inspection.
if i can get a dual inlet dual outlet muffler modded for mine its a must have!
