Default Valentine 1 Direct-Wired

Has anyone powered their V1 via hard wiring (i.e. using a switched power source from the cabin and not using the cig lighter)? And if so, any recommendations?

I checked out MBWorld and all of the direct-wired DIY projects involved dismantling half the dash to access a switched power source for the cig lighter. I'm not really wanting to remove all those dash panels.

I dropped the overhead lights and there are a number of wires for the lights and a small wire loom with six or so wires for the garage door buttons. Anyone know if any of those wires are switched (on/off with ignition)? And if so, which one?

you can buy one of these at any parts store and have access to switched power with no cutting or tearing up your dash.

surely you have a test light if you are doing the wiring...just use it to find a circuit powered by the ignition, that will handle the voltage...start at your fuse box....good luck
