Default A.C. Blowing Warm Air.

1st time i used A.C. since i installed nw duel intake w/kn extreme filters.
Anybody that installed duel intakes having the same problem ? I can't believe i'm blocking that much air flow to the A.C. radiator, you think ? I'm running a let he so the only thing in front of the A.C. rad. is the extreme filters. Thanks for all your comments and thoughts. ILLCYA

I can not believe the air flow is the problem either---too many have this intake now. Check fan operation and freon levels and pressures.

Check and make sure you did not knock any connectors loose or off on the a/c system, just used my a/c today and its working fine also just installed the NW cai set up in a few months back, so far no problems

I'm not having any hi temp problem with reg radiator coolant so i have to assume its not the fan.Guess i'll have to have freon and pressure checked.I thought maybe the extreme filters i used in inlieu of the reg filters might be the problem due to there size covering more of the A.C. rad .If there's anybody else out there that used extreme filters with the dual intake system what say you ?

1) The fan has two speeds---make sure that the fan will go on high. The relay tells the fan by the ECU to go to high when you turn the A/C on. 2) See if the A/C clutch is engaging. The post above could be correct. During install something could have been disconnected or broken. If the A/C clutch engages and STAYS that way, then you have freon in the system, or the low pressure switch would disengage the clutch. That will tell you that you have freon in the system or not. 3) If you have high fan and freon with a engaged clutch then the system could be blocked at the expansion valve at the bottom of the evaporator---smallest point. Only way to tell this is with gauges to measure the pressures. If the high side is above 250 or so and the low side is below 30-35, then something is blocking the system from flowing. Stop the A/C or you will do damage to the compressor, as well as, other seals, etc. Good luck---Jimmy

My car blows hot air for the first few minutes the a/c is on and its stock intake wise... These cars have high underhood temps, so the condenser has to cool all of the hot freon in the system before it gets cold, and theres a fair length of a/c plumbing under hood.

That being said, if it only does it when the car isnt moving it sounds like a fan problem. If it does it all the time you could have a freon problem (low pressure, leak, or something) or the a/c compressor is on its way out. If you have low freon levels and pressures and are still running the a/c the compressor wont be properly lubricated and will prematurely fail

Sounds like a seal blew...Check the compressor...If the electrical connection is good but it isn't spinning then the signs all point to lack of freon.-Rusty

I installed the Needswing dual CAI in January, and everything works just fine. It is already quite warm here in Phoenix, so if the CAI or filters had any influence on the AC that would have showed itself immediately. Sorry,
but it must be something else.

The air blows through the evaporator and then the heater core. Any residual heat in the heater core and plenums etc will have to be removed for full cooling, it does not blow cold until it all cooled down or the mix is reached.

Reading the e-service manual on a.c. system operation, i can see without all the special gauges and tools this is a job for the pro's.A good test for using my extended warrantee at the dealer
i purchased it and my car. I'll get back with the cause and the solution, mean while i might as well roll down the windows enjoy the sound of the engine and the wind blowing thru my scalp (thin hair). ILLCYA P.S. Appointment made at dealer friday 28th 8:00am.

I'm in Az with duals and no probs. Here is AZ the A/C takes a minute to cool down because it's so hot in July but cools down real quickly after that. I know it's obvious but is the red light lit up on the A/C button? Or can you see/hear your compressor come on and off?

Did they replace any o-rings or hoses, etc? Freon does not just come out or get used up. I am glad that it's working!!!!
