Unhappy "studder" on acceleration

I've got a 2005 SRT6 with 170,000 miles--and its been a great car. For the last 10,000 miles, I've noticed a vibration or "studder" from the powertrain when accelerating or going uphill (under load) around 35-40 mph....and also 65-75mph. Seems to be coming from the engine--slight loss of power.
I've check the tires and differential for vibrations, also fuel filters were changed, replaced the plugs/wires and also removed the exhaust to check for reduced back pressure. Everything is fine and no codes come up.
This studdering happens in any gear, 1st/2nd/etc. and air cond on or off, also no differences in summer or winter temps/humidity.....same problem.

Anyone out there have any ideas what might be causing this?

Did you ever replace the CPS in all those miles? Ever have a hard time starting it? That a lot of miles....how is the foot throttle, still solid when you push on it...TPS ever been replaced?

TPS = Close! Throttle Position Sensor!

CPS = Crank Position Sensor.

I had a surging/shudder under hard accerlation too. Had a stored fault code for the hight pressure airpump. That was changed and seemed to work fine.

Note: Talking with tech he said he has to contact Detroit to read fault codes. He also said the codes are more detailed them other Chry.

Check the motor and transmission mounts. Just an idea.

here's an update on my 170,000 mile SRT6 with the "Shudder" problem.........
.....the shuddering seems to happen mainly on light or gradual acceleration....whether at low speeds or highway speeds---in any gear. When I accelerate hard, it feels smooth and normal--almost no vibration.
Sometimes I'm convinced that it is a driveline problem, other times it feels like an engine mis-fire.........think I'm going to contact these Needswings guys.........

From what I have been told this is simply the SC kicking in...it still doesn't feel like a good thing, but if it makes you feel better I have this same issue and I agree...it happens a lot more with light or gradual acceleration. There is a vid by Waldig on YouTube that shows when the SC kicks in....that's why I probably agree it's just the SC...RPMS seem to match up. I don't think it has ever happened to me above 2.5k rpms.

On another note...Rob (NeedsWings) is a great guy and he has some amazing products, I'm sure he can help you out (just make sure to post up results!!!). Make sure to check out some of his products/parts while you are there!

I'm still having trouble believing it...but I have no reason to doubt him. Lots of highway miles? Long daily commute?
