SRT6 sound with rear MUFFLER deleted ??.
Has anyone deleted the rear muffler only but kept the rest of the exhaust stock including the resonator and all cats? I'm sure its been done by now and I'm curious if the sound would be horribly loud ? .
I have been meaning to get this done for the longest time but I have not yet. I know there are videos out there of it because I heard one. It's what made me want to do it. just forgot where the video was
theres some on youtube. I dont have an srt, but the sound is basically the same. People move out of my way in tunnels, especially in 3rd gear
Sparkie my roadster (SRT) has that setup and I love it! When I dyno'd my two cars no one said anything about the exhaust note on my stock exhaust coupe, but when I ran the roadster multiple folks had nothing but good comments about the sound.
I heard FTroupChief's SRT today while going down the highway into Tulsa and his car's exhaust was too loud for my tastes.
With this setup the car is still quiet but has an awesome sound, not over powering, when you get into it.
Stop by St Louis this week and I'll let ya take a listen!

Must be suffering from white line fever.
I hear removing the resonator does add a slight bit of tone but I was hoping that the muffler removal would add a more aggressive tone without being over the top loud.
Did this along time ago added a splitter pipe out the back. You'll actually be able to hear the exhaust some afterwards. It has less drone at idle and you can hear the lope. Its hard to judge exceptable volume because everyones is different, but this isn't **** off the neighbors loud. Other than WOT volume is about the same. Big thing is muffler is about 15lbs so you get weight reduction and slightly less backpressure at wot. win/win
With my car (NA) with the muffler removed its very very loud. I can be heard 5 miles away (no joke, I've had friends call me and ask me where I am) Its sets off car alarms in parking decks, scares small children and the elderly. Sounds beastly in tunnels and tends to make cops do the neck snap to see what passed them
So I think we need to clarify...the OP is saying take the muffler out...leave the resonator and everthing else stock.
Infinite - isn't your exhaust almost straight through?...no muffler, no resonator, cats?
My car has the rear cats removed and there is no different in sound from stock (as to be expected), but I am also looking into adjusting the sound. removing the muffler, but leaving the resonator...might sound very interesting....

i have rear cats gutted and stock resonator and magnaflow muffler and i think my car sounds perfect now.
no drone inside the car at all and the car is not obnoxious or too quiet. gutting the cats gave it around 10% more volume

Maybe when I get my magnaflow muffler put on, I can have the shop stop after they take the stock muffler out and get a quick sound clip with just the resonator...

ill get some drive by videos so you can have a better idea on the sound.
Yes...love that sound. I'm sure it sounds fantastic in person. I don't want you to feel like I'm copying you too much, but could you PM me the muffler you used? I'm going to use the stock tips, but I'm guessing there are only a few mufflers that fit well.
