I went to GLD 9/5 for some open racing with my friend with his 02 Mustang GT with a kenne bell on it.
It was a event weekend there and me and my friend were basically the only street cars there haha. I had a lot of people approach me and check out the SRT and ask questions about it. Most were shocked to see the times it was running. I got 4 runs in a few hrs and here they are-

This is my first time out with this car and its only modification currently is an intake. I got my best 60' without any brake torquing and whenever I torqued it, TC would kick in a bit even when it was disabled. Do you pull the fuses when you race or just disable it in the cabin as I did? Tires are just Kumho ecstas stock size nothing special. Also have a code 3 waiting to be installed still.

did you have the esp engaged? your 60 ft times will drop to 1.7 or so with dr's you can also launch higher rpm with them. your times arent bad for stock and with a pulley and tune some dr's and practice you can smoke that stang!!

 

no I disabled esp for all the runs, it still flashes on the harder launches I tried

 

the flashes indicate wheel spin thus the need for dr's. the lower tire pressures and sticky compounds of teh dr's allow me to launch at 1800 to 200 rpm without wheelspin.
also running clk rims drops a bunch of rotational weight. each wheel and tire combo is 38 lbs

 

Those are good times. I figured out that brake launching works on street tires a bit too late last time i went to the track. Did u have it on D or manual mode when shifting? Those 60' are just about right on street tires.

 

1st run was done in D and the rest done in manual mode auto shifting

I think your 60’ are off, they should be mid to low 1.8x and once you get more practice launching, you could pull a high 1.7x on street tires.

 

60ft times are a science. It will depend on track prep, launch rpm and how well you can feather a throttle. These cars have a good amount of torque and are pretty light but 1.8's are fairly common on street tires. Great times for a stocker and keep it up.
