Default Questions about automatic reliability

I need more speed. I know, I have the Viper for that but my xf is my daily driver and has 65k miles on it and the powertrain warranty is almost up. I'm either thinking of getting something else or trying out an SRT-6 with lower miles. It would be my first vehicle in 11 years without a stick but the idea of an 11 second daily driver is appealing. My question is, how reliable is the auto after you mod the engine with a tune and pulley, etc? Any reported breakdowns? Also, besides the IC pump, what else goes bad?

Thanks.

That auto is the same as what's in the E55, SL55, and the old SLR. It's pretty solid and withstands lots of abuse. The E's that are modded are in the 500's torque and hp, and hold it fine. It's definitely one of the highlights of this car. The autostick shifts quicker than you can.

Make sure you test drive the SRT6 to see if you can deal with being stuck with an auto.

No transmission issues here(knocking on wood) with the mods I have done. Also, I wanted a stick as well but was impressed with this auto as it is matched up perfectly.
