Default Need Help

Guys , I've studied much about pulleys , but really don't understand what to buy... ASP is nice but delivers only 20-25 whp, eurocharged 185 with ecu tune - 45 whp , but i need to send them my ecu...
And after pulley I want NW dual cai - is it compatible with eurocharged ecu?

Never get a tune, until you are done adding the HP mods you want. I would go with the CAI, then a pulley of your choice, and if done with HP adding mods, get the tune done...to bring it all together.

you can run any pulley without a tune. its when you run hard ie: wide open throttle that the tune comes into play. to get the most out of a setup with cai pulleys exhaust etc. all req a tune. run a 178 without a tune and you say cool, run it with a proper tune and you say OH SH^^!!. run a 181 without a tune and you say, man thats gonna cost some money.
the concept of the c3 or 178 running without a tune is because the ecu can accomadate the inc. in boost for most of the runs. i have logged 19 psi with my c3. the ecu cant adjust to that much boost from oem without a tune

all of the pullies and cai's that are available for this car have been tried. pick whats best for your needs and then search for a tune. e/c , inmotion , oetuning, kleeman, renntech, buckhead imports all can tune your ecu. some have canned tunes some have dyno tunes and some have driving real time tunes. do all your homework, this isnt a cheap car to mod

What country? You may find a fellow member there who owns a SLK32 or C32 that can help you find a tuner. Otherwise you have to send in your ECU, or do a remote tune with their laptop. Check their websites for options. The dual CAI will give you plenty of extra power without a tune and that may be enough for you.

I would guess he is in Russia.....so, he will have a wait on getting his ecu to a tuner and back....but we all know that is the best way...data logging would help in his case, but I don't think that will happen...

well jerry at e/c can send him a laptop and he can tune in his driveway. that option has been here for quite a while and works very well with a ecu. dataloggs would help a bunch for the tuner to see were the car is at

Nope , we have one web site in Russia ( most tuned european cars in Moscow) and there we only 2 srt6 and couple c32 - there owners don't mind with tune- they bought sl55 or e55, and some porsches ... Very difficult country and people to understand Most like show how much money they have, so small amg models aren't widely present in my country

Well, in some ways, it seems like that here....so here goes my friend. I would start with a cold air intake of your choice...each over here have their own favorites, but this is where I would start. Then a pulley of your choice, again your choice Code 3 supercharger pullies are hard to find, but people sell them on here from time to time, so the next option is a crank pulley which are available. These two things alone will get you ahead of the pack, but you will have to pull them together with a tune. You can pull the ECU, and ship it to a tuner, they will flash a canned tune, or if you have some data logging as to how the car is running, they can take that into account, and do a custom tune. Then they will ship it back. Put it in, reset the throttle, and away you go...this is the simple explaination...they are a whole host of other mods you can do, and just reading thru all the threads, rearend, cooling, meth injection, it's all here...good luck

Well, it is no secret I like what Rob at Needswings sells. I like his CAI, the Catch-can to keep the junk out of the SC, and he is working on many other little things to produce more HP...his mani's for example...as well as some fueling mods...but, you, my friend...start out simple...if you like his CAI, then start there...I like the Code 3 pulley, but, nothing wrong with a crank pulley, but do tune the car if you go with the crank pulley. Take your time and read thru the threads...all the mods and see how others have modded theirs...if you don't understand, or the translation doesn't make sense to you...just ask any of us on here for help...we all are glad to help, but do understand, we are all kind of different in our approach to more horsepower...
