Default New Owner

So I picked up an SRT6 last Monday and I couldn’t be happier
Its black and sporting about 69k miles.
With a wedding and a new house in the near future upgrades will be slow
But I have a need for speed so im planing my mods now.
I’ve been muddling around the forum and look forward to owning this car for many years to come!

I plan on doing what ever work I can on my own BUT...anyone know a good mechanic in the Baltimore area?

There's plenty to be done before performance mods. Invest in a Meguiar claybar kit and detail it end to end. Remove the rims and clean/polish them inside and out. Lay on 4-5 coats of good wax. Work a good leather cleaner into the seat. Open the hood and start cleaning and armor-alling. You will learn every square inch of the vehicle and learn to love it. None of this will cost very much and you will be amazed at the difference in an older, higher mileage car. Have fun...and welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum and congrats on the purchase of an SRT. When I first got mine I was sneaking back out at midnight to drive it just one more time. That is great advise from Goldwing. If you are interested in mods and looking for speed get in touch with Rob at needswings. He is a forum member an SRT owner and a great guy to talk to when considering a mod. Enjoy the process.

I just wanted to drop in and welcome you to the forum.
I have been here for about 3 1/2 years and can say without a doubt this is a great support group for Crossfire owners.

Congradulations you made a great choice! I've had mine since 2006 and I still grin every time I turn the key!

Enjoy the ride!

Great choice and welcome to the forum. You will love this car its so responsive and a joy to drive. Start with an Intake when you decide you would like to get more power. These cars have a lot of potential it just depends how much performance you want!

Welcome. You may want to keep in touch with PatPur on the forum.

We meet almost every Sunday in Burtonsville MD. Will start up again in Spring.

There have been several members that meet up and he arranged a cruise to Sugarloaf where we had 7 XF's there.

Unfortunately I will be moving to Florida in Feb. Thought about selling the SRT, however more than likely will ship it down.

Good luck with the new set of wheels.

Regards,
Jake80

Jake80, where in Florida.

I purchased a house in Polk County, about 30 minutes directly south of Disneyworld.

I plan on living there eventually, but probably not for a year or two.

When I go, it's still a toss up on whether to drive the XF, or ship it.

If you decide to ship, check out this transporter, it looks interesting, especially the closed carrier option:

Auto Transport, Car Shipping Quote Online, Auto Shipping, Call 1-888-655-8840

We bought a house in Hollywood FL very close to Ft. Lauderdale airport. You are approx. 3.5 hours north of us.

Thanks for the transportation info. I am debating on taking the auto train out of Lorton VA and it puts me in the next day around Orlando area.

Regards,

Pat C,

Called them. For open carrier door to door it is $725.00.

The autotrain is approx. $390.00. Of course I burn up two days getting it down there.

Thanks I will keep this option in mind.

I've heard both good and bad things about that AutoTrain (Amtrack).

Might be wise to ping the Forum before you take the plunge.

Besides I'm not sure if Amtrack is any cheaper than an (open) 18 wheeler transporter.

(Just saw your pricing).

Keep in mind with a Transporter, you have one throat to choke, and it's door-to-door.

(Don't forget to factor in gas, tolls, and the idiots on Interstate 95)...

Do your homework first...lol...
