I would get a second opinion before you go wasting money. How many miles are on your car? I have 60,000 miles on my SRT with original pads and rotors. The rotors still look new and the pads still have plenty of miles left on them.

Hit the search button for brake pads/rotors for a search on an upgrade from the stock set-up....

Unless you are racing, just get an good solid replacement. Drilled and slotted look cool, but I have been told they are noisey. I replaced mine with Centric rotors (there are now premium versions available, at least for A6s) and Disc Italia Titanium Kevlar pads, which are low dust. Hit a site like www.brakeworld.com for all the varieties and combinations.
Any rotor, even solid, can warp if they are real hot and then subject to freezing water (like hitting a puddle). That is why I had to replace the original rotors on my SRT6 -- I bought it used with 8500 miles and the brakes would pulse. Problem eliminated with new rotors and pads.

Onehundred80, knowing now what I did not know 2 years ago, I agree. It might have even been a stuck caliper or pad that was causing very pronounced vibration. So I'm kicking my own a$$, but at least I know I won't need brakes for about a decade. Anyway, the Disc Italia's are very low dust which was a big improvement over oem.
