Hood scoop anyone?
I've been kicking the idea around of modifying the intake by installing a hood scoop for ram-air affect. On the back side of the Y-duct, why not remove the plate and install an adapter/duct which would run-up from the back side through the hood into a ram-air hood scoop. A filter would need to be attached to the Y-housing and then from there attach a short but large diameter duct from the filter. The hood scoop would be a diverging scoop to increase the air flow but once the airflow goes below the hood in order to increase static pressure you would have a diffusing duct.
Of course in order to lift the hood, you'd need separation from the duct attached the filter and the diffusing duct from the hood. This is a simple fix by adding a seal on one side so when the hood is closed the flange on the filter duct would mate with the seal on the diffuser duct.
Can you imagine the increase in airflow into the intake at speeds about 100 mph....
You would definitely get a greater amount of impact air going into the supercharger.
Any thoughts out there?

the needswings duel intake does just that ( increase the air flow) ans supplies more air than the supercharger can use,,, what does happen with the needswings CAI is the supercharger does not have to work as hard to flow more air,, at 100 as u spoke of the pressure at the throttle is so high the car can't use it all, all this is done without cuting the hood or adding a scoop,,, now add a scoop for looks now that is the way to go just look at fireamx his scoop looks great. jim

Nothing to see here, folks. Please move along.
BTW, you can get a similar effect with the SL55 intake with TVT tubes and
Needswings Devil horns, as you get with the Needswings dual CAI.
Coyote.
