I'll be posting up a video from my track day in a while. (It's uploading) My lap times were much more consistent and faster with the Wavetrac. That's with tires nearing the end of usefulness and a track that hasn't had cars on it in a month. Even better was observing cars that used to be a challenge become much easier to outdistance. (They were in my rearview mirror for a while) This event developed from the desire of the local race car drivers to have a practice session before the next race. I enjoy running with them because they know their cars, are professionally set up and fast where I'm usually slow. It gives a gut check and education to the amateurs ... and in some cases they get passed by old men in Crossfires on street tires. Let's talk the numbers, 1 second faster than my previous best. Fast enough to hold off a GTR for 2 laps. (another video) I didn't post that one, I'm embarrassed, I went way off line to let him pass under braking and then proceeded to overcook the hairpin and put 2 wheels on the dirt. DRAT! After seeing the video, I still have a lot of speed left to find with the Wavetrac. It'll take some time to unlearn the consequences of getting on the gas too early with an open diff and learn what is possible with the Wavetrac. Sunday (if it doesn't rain) I have a competition with monetary prizes. so I'll be digging hard.
