No kidding here! These scams are old and still around. My borther recently smoked one out on a Mustang. I was no kidding in the area and when he communicated that I would be able to come inspect it, they never returned a call or were heard from again.

Just make sure they are on the level...trust but verify

I found it in Arkansas. I was searching crossfires for sale to compare and this Chrysler dealer who just took it in on a trade. If you know anyone who is interested in the first deal, which I think is still a great deal, it is located in Keene, NH. 15000 miles ain't bad. Plus I'd rather have the silver one.

I didn't think I could pass it up. It was just too good to be true, in the SSB ALSO. They are sending me a letter of certification that the car is in like new condition and completely mechanically sound, or they'll take the car back.

Thanks for looking out for. The purchase is with a reputable dealer ( did the research). They had it listed for 16,999, but talked them down a few.

Original deal...

Black SRT6
$17000
15134 miles
2 new tires in rear
Missing engine cover
Included car cover.
Great condition

New deal...

Silver SRT6
$15,500
6110 miles
Immaculate condition

The owner of a bank turned it in on a trade last night. I found it looking for potential problems our cars may have and bought it this morning over the phone. THEY ARE EVEN THROWING IN SHIPPING TO PA FROM ARKANSAS FOR A CRAZY RATE. I think I've done the right thing. Can't wait to get it. Any tips for a noob?

I hope you have not sent them any money yet so you can back out. I had already checked that car out last week. It was traded in 2 weeks ago tomorrow (Monday) along with a Chrysler 300 for a new Jeep Grand Cherokee. They had one snow this winter that was 22 inches and something happened trying to get up his driveway that does not show up on CarFax or Autocheck. I do not think the dealer was told about this either. Trust me because I have a local contact Crossfire owner that knows the history of that car. I live in Kansas City, MO myself. The first owner is a local bank president, not the owner of a bank. One other correction is that it is in Arkansas City, Kansas and not the state of Arkansas. Maybe it's not too late to get the Black one. I am in the market for a SRT-6 also to have with my 2003 SLK-32 AMG. It looks like good, low mileage examples are hard to find. BTW this seems to be a great forum !

Not that anyone has a reason to dislike the fact that they might be getting $900 worth the pulley for no additional price but I too feel that it probibly is just missing the engine cover to show off what is undernieth.
Mike, Take another look...
Montana
Montana,
It looks like the belt is out to the edge of the crank pulley.... cant really see the pulley well enough to tell if it is stock or not... it it had a 181 or 185 the WP pulley would not be factory... not sure about a 178.. I still think it is stock....

I dont believe that an after market pulley is any wider than a stock pulley either.... just bigger diameter...

I also was having the dealer send me all the service records (which were listed on carfax all by the same dealer). It showed all of it's service records as correct maintenance.

If there is funny business going on, I will keep you guys posted. If there was something that happened to the vehicle that is not listed on the reports, Hopefully I can find out before the shipping. (would love to talk to your source...)

Thanks again

I want to thank you guys for all your help. I will be taking delivery of my SSB XF very soon. I have been following these car for over 3 years. I had a Dodge Charger SRT8 before. This allowed me to participate in the SRT Experience at Watkins Glen. I drove every car there...SRT10 viper, 300c srt8, srt10 ram. And by far, the most fun I had was driving the SRT6. IT IS JUST A GO KART!

I look forward to hopefully meeting you guys at some of the events in the near future, but until then, stay safe and keep all four wheels on the ground!

Since you are from Pennsylvania, plan to attend the Chrysler National meet in Carlisle, PA in July 2011. Look in the Car Show section and look up the Carlisle event. See you there......

with fuel prices rising everyday? i paid 1k 2 years ago to have the black one shipped from pa. to calif., open carrier. although it was a little dirty, that first mile driving home from the drop-off point was one of the happiest of my life. i think anything over 1 days drive, it's worth it to ship (unless yer softball...).
