Default Need your help on a decision...

Hello friends. Looking to get some advice. Currently looking at purchasing a CF SRT6. In great condition (for all intensive purposes), but I think there was/is modifications to it.

I had the dealer send me pics of the engine and noticed it was missing the OE engine cover.

This may be a long shot, but can any of you tell, if any, mods have been done by looking a these pics.

I really appreciate the help and hope to join the Fraternal Order of Crossfires soon...LOL!

Thanks.

Post the pics up. Some mods are easy to identify. If the pics are high resolution, most of the mods could be identified.

I am having troubles bringing up your pictures but will keep trying.
Are you after a full stocker or just curious as to who what and when it was messed with? Rip It has a point about looking for the owner on this thread via the vehical#. May have been done by someone very good mechanically rather than a hack.

I'm not necessarily looking for a full stocker, but I definitely would like to know what has been done to the vehicle, good or bad. It has 15k on in and seems to be in perfect shape.

Doesn't look like there have been any modifications made to this engine.
Good luck with the purchase. If the car is in good shape and the price is right you'll really enjoy owning one of these cars.

Agreed..... it 'looks' stock. All the pulleys appear stock as does the intake... dont see any 'extra' wires or hoses that are obvious...it is a good, clean looking, engine bay.....

Good luck with whatever you get....

Good deal minus cover. AFAIK white battery is OEM, so you might want to change it soon.

Idavenci.... just an observation but at first glance it appeared that the oil cap had a stain on it, but looking closer it may have been water because the rear rubber seal and the front by the grill appears to have droplets on it. May have been raining and then pulled in for the look see.
Also, the caps that hide the windshield wiper nuts are missing. This is somewhat common with our cars, but also might indicate that the cowling was pulled for some work, and then the nuts were not replaced.
If the deal goes through, see if you can squeeze a new battery, the existing one is original and may be near its end of life. just my $.02

Hey Mike R. at first glance I agree with you but is it just my imagination that the rim on that crank pulley looks wider than a stock M/B pulley?
Not that anyone has a reason to dislike the fact that they might be getting $900 worth the pulley for no additional price but I too feel that it probibly is just missing the engine cover to show off what is undernieth.
Mike, Take another look...

Thank guys for all your help and you well wishes, but I'm not going with this XFSRT6 anymore. Just so you know why...

Original deal...

Black SRT6
$17000
15134 miles
2 new tires in rear
Missing engine cover
Included car cover.
Great condition

New deal...

Silver SRT6
$15,500
6110 miles
Immaculate condition

The owner of a bank turned it in on a trade last night. I found it looking for potential problems our cars may have and bought it this morning over the phone. THEY ARE EVEN THROWING IN SHIPPING TO PA FROM ARKANSAS FOR A CRAZY RATE. I think I've done the right thing. Can't wait to get it. Any tips for a noob?

Make sure someone looks at the car for you. This sounds like a well-known scam where they offer free shipping. Tell the person who owns it that you know someone in the area and ask when it can be inspected. Seriously!!!

I have engine covers hanging as wall art, so if you truely want or need one, make me an offer I can't refuse, and I will make more room on the wall...lol
