Default IC pump Question

Hey guys I just want to preface this by saying that I have used the search tool and read some of the IC pump threads.
But I still not sure.
So is it possible for the IC pump to work intermittently? I feel like from time to time she loses all of her GO. One minute I’m running down the road neck and neck with a 911 than a few minutes later I put the pedal down again and I feel like I’m driving a Prius she revs up but im not going anyware fast. I also looked through the thread with all of the diagnostic codes but didn’t find a code for IC Pump failure. Would the IC pump through a code? I recently had the car in for transmission problems and had the codes read. They didn’t mention anything about the IC pump. Then again I don’t think the guys at the Chrysler dealership had ever worked on a car like this before.

The IC pump can be intermittant... once things cool down you get full power back.... until it gets hot again

it also dosent throw a code....

It is not too expensive and is a pretty easy DIY....

That is what i was thinking.
Thanks for confirming.

Any recomendations for the replacement?
I recall seeing some people have gone with a Johnson Pump... who caries it?
I saw a Bosch Intercooler Fluid Pump on Needswings for $129ish.

I put the Johnson pump in mine... I think it runs about $170... just did a search and came up with HP Autowerks, Eurocharged and eBay for the Johnson CM30...

I would say it is more like the pump is failed, not working intermittently.
So, you are cruising along, step on the gas and all is good. Then you step
on the gas again, and nothing but the sound one would here if the catalytic
converter was plugged. Then, later (few minutes) it seems that all power
has been restored.

It is not that the pump is now working, it is just that your engine coolant
temperature has come down enough that your IATs aren't through the roof,
and the Supercharger engages. Then things heat up a bit, and the computer
sees the temps are too high, and you get nothing in the way of power. A
little more driving at normal speed, and the temps come down. IATs are
now lower and the Supercharger engages.

Have to disagree with you there Coyote.
It's not even a very good theory...
Sorry,
Mike

yes sir, it is the pump failing...although there have been cases of the temp sensor going bad as well...I would replace the pump. It will give you no indications of failing. Your temperature gauge will read normal, as it is reading the intake temps...Johnson seems to be the favorite choice, although the Ford Lightening pump will work as well. Good luck with the replacement.

I personally think the Johnson is the best replacement for the factory, it's the one I have in mine...
