I 'FINALLY" got my cold no start fixed!!!
Some of you may remember that I was having a no start issue when the car was cold with a P0335 error quite some time ago...(2009) I had two SRT's so I just fiddled with it when I wanted and drove it when it was warm...
Last Fall I sold the SSB so I was down to ONE SRT
. I checked all the electronics and grounds and CPS sensor and wiring... and any thing else I could think of. I finally broke down 3 weeks ago and took it to a local indy MB shop and let them do a diag on it.... they called me and said they think the flex plate/ring gear was damaged and they were going in with a bore scope to verify. Damaged flex plate confirmed. What the heck! So they get the new part and it dosent fit.... send it back and get a second one...same part that dosent fit. So they have Chrysler and MB trying to figure out what the correct PN is. I emailed 32krazy and asked for if he could get the MB numbers. He sends me the data(see below) and I pass that to the shop. (THANK YOU!) That gets them to the correct Chrysler part number(mine was the old version based on date of engine build). They installed the new part and did the transmission connector fix and gave me my car back last week. I have been testing it for days to make sure it was fixed and all is great.
Here is the valid MB part numbers for the flex plate. Note that the first ring gear was changed twice. The bottom two parts the the current parts depending on your engine number.
47 A 112 030 06 12 RING GEAR Replaced by: A 113 030 00 12
47 A 113 030 00 12 RING GEAR Replaced by: A 628 030 00 12
47 A 628 030 00 12 RING GEAR [022] Up to engine: 60 013925
47 A 112 030 08 12 RING GEAR [023] As of engine 60 013926
Here are the pics of my flex plate. Note how little damage there is that caused me so much trouble. The shop said they found a sliver of metal wedged on the flex plate that came off a stringer in the housing. Not a problem for the housing which was my first question. He didnt save that little piece for me.

Mike did you change a crank pulley?
Yes, that is the ring that the CPS picks up and generates pulses from. I am guessing that the little piece of metal that broke off damaged it. It was odd that it wouldn't start when cold(brrrr cold) but if I connected the battery charger and set for cranking amps it would start right up. Also when the engine was good and heated up it would start every time.
My only theory is that the damage to the ring made it marginal and when cold it would be just out of range of the CPS and when hot it would expand and be just in range....
But that dosent explain the starting with the charger connected....
I am just so happy to be able to drive it ANY time I want now...

Possibly once warm and the battery charged, or with the battery charger, the engine cranked fast enough to not detect the defect...\
Borderlne cranking rpm between charged battery and cold battery.

180, you know I changed my pulley... don't play naive..
I did try to pin the fly wheel but couldnt see a good way to do it(note scratch on flex plate) and NEVER came near the ring... I guess I may have caused the metal chip that may have tweaked the ring...

RCMP may have an investigator opening if you check Dave.....you might just make a good one....Shame on you Mikey....that's what you get when you poke around in a dark hole...
Frankly, I'd never have guessed you could screw up the flex plate so easily. I'm pleased you found the problem and can enjoy your car. Flex plate damage ........ who woulda figured.
